Where is Aaron Hernandez? (1 Viewer)

I have been out of the country, unable to see any football at all and unable to keep up with football news to the degree I should.

Not long ago, I was reading threads touting Hernandez as the rookie TE to own over his counterpart Gronkowski. In fact, Hernandez was being touted over most/all rookie TEs. I happily drafted him in a dynasty league after seeing his stats for an early preseason game. However I now see that his overall numbers for the preseason fall short of Gronkowski. And the forums seem pretty silent on Hernandez.

Does anyone have information on the New England depth chart / which TE seems to be poised to be the most targeted?

I think gronkowski has been getting more pt lately because Hernandez was a little dinged up, nothing serious. Hernandez has been staying after practice with Brady working on red zone routes.

I read Gronk was to be used mostly as a blocker and Hernandez as a wr - so we shall see. Ive picked up Hernandez and will see how the targets sort themselves out.

Watching game 3 (Which I think is the most important preseason game), I wouldn't fall for this, Gronk has great hands and has pretty good speed and is an excellent blocker. He will be on the field most of the time, Hernandez who is an excellent receiver will only be on the field in certain packages, don't let the hype fool you, Gronk will end up being the TE to have on NE.

I think you are both right which is what scares me (actually not since I don't own either).I think Hernandez will be your situational passing down TE while Gronk is in there all the time. Near the redzone Hernandez comes in and runs the endzone routes while gronk blocks. I expect similar numbers for both with a couple more TDs for Hernandez.Unfortunately splitting up the catches probably means neither one is going to have a huge opportunity to become a stud until the other is out of the picture.
