Which Keeper to roll with? (1 Viewer)

10 Team PPR League

1 Keeper in the round they were drafted (or last round if claimed off waivers)

I have the #2 pick and will take either DJ or Bell depending on who goes with the 1st overall pick. Who would you keep out of these options -

McCoy (3rd round)

Ty Montgomery (last round)

Golden Tate (last round)

Deandre Hopkins (last round)

Hopkins offers the best value overall but I really don’t trust the QB situation there in Houston. Should I take the plunge and keep him or would you take one of the other 3 guys?

If it is a one-keeper league, how in the world will DJ and Bell be thrown back?

Hopkins in the 12th round?  So you got him off of waivers last year?

All of that aside, you keep Hopkins.

I think I would either go with Hopkins or Montgomery. McCoy is too pricey when you can get Ty with a last round pick.

Any idea who other teams will be keeping? If you see that one position might be scarce that might inform your decision.

With no other info is say go with Ty and go wr/wr with your 2nd and 3rd picks. That way you'll have 1 elite Rb in a great offense...1 good Rb in a great offense and can fill the rest in from there.

The expected keepers from the other teams are –

Elliot (2nd)

Brady (8th)

Ajayi (last)

Gordon (5th)

Howard (last)

Nelson (3rd)

Matt Ryan (10th)

Mike Thomas (last)

I had DJ as my keeper last year so he goes back to the pool after 1 year. Sames goes for Bell.

Yea I think I'd go with Ty. Don't think a similar Rb gets to you in th3 late second but there should be some comparable wrs to Hop around there.

Keep McCoy. A proven #1 RB in round 3 is awesome. Also sounds like you only keep guys for one year, no worries that he doesn't have a ton of long term value. Who knows what happens with Ty, and you get can get similar/better WR to your options.

Good luck.  Please see mine: https://forums.footballguys.com/forum/topic/758120-who-to-keep-involves-gurley-cooper-m-thomas/

I honestly don't understand the logic of anyone other than McCoy here. He's a 1st round pick for an early 3rd round price. He's an every week starter, who when paired with Bell or Johnson, gives a significant advantage.

People greatly overvalue their picks in these kinds of leagues. Keep the best player, and that is McCoy by a gigantic margin. How Johnson or Bell are in the draft is mind boggling.

I have to agree with travdogg again.....he is exactly right here.  The value seems good with those late round picks and they are but you are talking about only one keeper and getting a RB1 in the 3rd round is great value in itself.  Don't overthink and go with the best player....

Love the value with TY and Hopkins however like another stated, getting 1st round production from McCoy in the 3rd round means you will probably have opportunity to get a solid WR in the 2nd round or TE like Gronk. I'm not sold on great production from Deandre Hopkins with someone like (cough) Tom Savage throwing the ball too. TY might have great games but mcmoy will be the standout weekly winning you the position battle - a wonderful RB2 for you.

Appreciate any feedback to my question here - https://forums.footballguys.com/forum/forum/46-the-assistant-coach/ - thanks in advance!
