Which one NFL team had the 3 best WRs? (1 Viewer)

'98 Vikings -- Moss/Carter/Reed
I can't really comment on the pre-90's era, but since then I don't see how it can't be this trio, though admittedly I was young enough that I barely remember the Houston trio. They were really good in tecmo bowl though :goodposting:

Not saying Moss/Carter/Reed is definitely the best, but some of you are underrating how good Jake Reed was. He was a damn fine number 2 in Minnesota before Moss got there.
You're absolutely right. I had forgotten how solid of a WR Jake Reed was. In my defense, I blame it on mentally conflating him with the far-less-solid Josh Reed.

Lofton, Reed, Beebee?Just throwing it out there for discussion.
Agreed, I w3as going to call the same.. The Superbowl loses will keep them from being mentioned by many but they were truly great together. I wonder if players from that team would draw better opinion if they had never made it to a SB in the first place...

Turning back the clocks: 1949 Rams - Crazy Legs Hirsch (HOF), Tom Fears (HOF), and Bobby Shaw (Pro Bowler)

As for the accusation that I'm peeing in the pool, RN asked a question, then felt compelled to clarify it midstream. I answered, and he made an unflattering accusation of homerism because I answered the question he asked and admitted he had to clarify, and then accused me further of being unexcellent when he led out with an unfounded accusation and refused to apologize. I think I've been pretty calm about this, and even suggested that I'd accept his apology, but he refuses. How exactly am I the one peeing in the pool?
Nobody gives a crap. Move on already.
I'd hate to derail such a timely and fantasy relevant thread. A high five digiter like you probably knows more than I ever will about how things should be handled on this board. Please feel free to resume answering the critical question in the original post, but as a friendly aside, be sure to stay on topic with the OP's intent, even if his question is unclear, or be prepared to feel his unforgiving wrath.
Your member # doesn't give you the right to anything more than anyone else, and it sure doesn't prove you more intelligent or more qualified... Only a d o u s h e would mention someones member # in a debate....

Lofton/John Jefferson/Paul Coffman(TE)

Branch/Biletnikoff/Dave Casper(TE)

Older teams didn't have 3 good WR's.

If you're going to accuse me of blatant homerism for posting my answer while you were writing your clarification in your arbitrary thread question, I'd hope you'd have the courtesy to acknowledge that my answer was probably right until your clarification.
You mean my clarification in post #5 before you had even posted? That clarification?
Yes, the one six minutes before you posted. I was busily looking them up because I didn't want to seem homerish when I posted that the Patriots currently boast the greatest collection of receiving talent in history.
Kinda obvious that, in the case of the 2010 Pats, you need to consider their talent level NOW. All 3 are a shadow (even Moss) of themselves in their prime.Harrison, Wayne, Clark is a nice trio of receivers if you want to include TE.

Hirsch was still a running back in the '40s, but I like the creativity. Along the same lines, Dub Jones teaming with WRs Dante Lavelli and Mac Speedie on the '50 Browns team. They used in a bunch of 3-WR sets in their blowout season opener against the Eagles (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/195009160phi.htm).

'07 Pats -- Moss/Welker/Stallworth

'04 Colts -- Harrison/Wayne/Stokley

'00 Rams -- Holt/Bruce/Hakim

'98 Vikings -- Moss/Carter/Reed

'98 49ers -- Rice/Owens/Stokes

'95 Lions -- Moore/Perriman/Morton

'91 Bills -- Reed/Lofton/Beebe

'91 Oilers -- Jeffires/Hill/Givins

'89 Redkins -- Clark/Monk/Sanders

'84 Dolphins -- Clayton/Duper/Moore
This is my selection.
The '02 Raiders boasted Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, and Jerry Porter (near his peak). That's at least as good as what the Bengals are trotting out this season.
I might like this one better.

First off, I'd hardly call Mos a "shadow of himself in his prime". He would have had 16+ TDs last season if Brady hadn't been so scattershot (especially in the first 8 weeks). Dude's still a nigh-unstoppable man-beast.Second off, the problem with Harrison/Wayne/Clark is one of timing. Prior to 2007, Clark's best season was 37/488/4. From 2007 onward, Harrison's best season was 60/636/5. By the time Dallas Clark became good, Marvin Harrison was done. In fact, I suspect that the fall of Marvin Harrison played a large role in the rise of Dallas Clark.
