Not a big college football guy (not enough time unfortunately) but watch the big games when I can. Who are the big name guys that will be draft eligible that I should watch for? Obviously Troy Smith but who are the others?

Off the top of my head...

OSU

Offense

Troy Smith

Ted Ginn Jr.

Doug Datish (center)

Defense

Quinn Pitcock (DT)

Florida

Offense

Chris Leak

Defense

Reggie Nelson (S)

Earl Everett (LB)

Brandon Siler (LB)

Wow! Good stuff. Those are some lofty numbers Leak has quietly amassed. Unfortunately, none of the other people on those lists have panned out in the NFL (for the most part). Here's to wishful thinking though.

thx. What does Leak play?
QB. He's been in a rotation with a highly touted Freshman (Tim Tebow) this year, but both have played pretty well.
is Tebow really that highly regarded? From everything I've seen it seems like hes just a gimmick/trick play type of guy since he runs well for a QB. But I'll admit htat I don't follow college ball that closely, so I could be wrong.
 I hadn't heard much but what I did hear had him tabbed as a top recruit. Hard to get a line on him since he's still only a Freshman.

http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewp...sp?pr_key=31436Number 1 QB recruit for 2006. Pretty highly regarded.

At this point in his young career, Tim Tebow is put into the game to run the football. Occasionally, he'll pass the ball to catch the defense off-guard, but generally, he's running the ball.He is highly regarded. He was Mr. Football in Florida last year and finished his high school career with nearly 10K yards passing and 95 passing TD's and rushed for about 3K yards with 63 TD's on the ground.

TOUCHDOWN RESPONSIBILITY (SEC)1. Danny Wuerffel 122 2. Eli Manning 118 3. Peyton Manning 101 4. Chris Leak 100 This list above is the eye-popper....Leak has lost some snaps this year to Tebow due to the frosh being a better fit for the Meyer offense requiring a more mobile QB. Leak is more of a pure passer. If he had stayed in one system for his entire time in college, he would probably have had slightly better numbers.Either way, he'll get drafted. Should he find himself in the right situation, he'll get some time to watch the pro game from the bench for a little bit and then maybe get a shot.

:goodposting: Tebow is a stud. He's already made a big impact at Florida.

Great replies so far.

Also watch for the upcoming draft:

DeShawn Wynn, RB, Fla

T.J. Downing, OG, OSU (shrine game)

Brandon Mitchell, FS, OSU (shrine game)

Jarvis Moss, DE, Fla (mulling entering the draft)

For the future:

Percy Harvin, Offensive Weapon, Fla

Chris Wells, RB, OSU

Jim Laurenitis (aka Hawk's son), LB, OSU

Kirk Barton, OT, OSU

and many, many more.

You'll probably see at least 25 future NFL players in this game, and that's conservative.

Jarvis Moss (DE) has hinted he may leave for the NFL. Ryan Smith has said the same thing, but I don't think he has a chance to make it on the next level.

I love Leak as a college QB, but I'd be surprised if he's successful in the NFL. Also, not exactly accurate to say he's been in a rotation with Tebow, it's mostly Leak, with Tebow in short yardage/goal line, and an occasional series to try and get the kid PT for next year.

I think Baker and Caldwell (WRs) were already mentioned. I like Baker as an NFL player, as he's pretty good size (6'3" 213), and doesn't shy away from downfield blocking, something a lot of WR have to learn at the next level. Jemalle Cornelius is another WR who may have enough talent to play in the NFL.

Percy Harvin may be the best player on the field tonight. True freshman, Pete Carrol supposedly told him he'd make him the next Reggie Bush if he came to USC. A few years away from the NFL, he has great speed, needs to work on his routes and his hands. You'll see him in the backfield a lot tonight. Listed as WR, but plays a lot of RB, and/or takes handoffs/pitches in motion from the WR position.

percy harvin is a stud WR/RB

Dallas Baker #81 is a senior wideout that is a big target, and #5 andre caldwell might also consider coming out as well.

Deshawn wynn the senior RB for Florida was plagued by injuries, hes something to watch.

Ryan smith is a solid CB that will have to deal with Teddy Ginn/Gonzalez tonight, and he is 3rd in INTs in the NCAA.
