Which RB people are afraid of now - will break out and be top 10 ? (1 Viewer)

I have 3 main RB's that are like that IMO.

1. Adrian Petersen ( min )

People are afraid becasue of 3 reasons - 2 collar bone breaks in 6 months , upright running style , and RBBC with Chester. BUT he is also the most purley talented RB to enter the NFL IMO in a long time.

2. MB III

People are afraid of the whole RBBC thing with Julius Jones, MB doesn't even start , no real speed or HR ability. YET all he did last year was score and produce every time he got a chance and has great hands and unreal nose for the endzone.

3. MJD

People are afraid of the 3 headed RBBC that maybe looms in Taylor splitting the 20 - 20 action with him and Greg Jones being back getting the shorties. BUT MJD proven to be maybe an evern better short yardage back than Jones , incredible HR ability , great hands !

Of these 3 which one is most likley to break out and be a top 5 guy this season ?

Most people might say MJD -- But i watched Petersen play in college that Freshman season he was crazy good. I go with petersen.

I think Thomas Jones represents great value.

And keep an eye on Tatum Bell during the preseason. With Kevin Jones nursing his lisfranc Bell will get his opportunity. What he does with said opportunity is anybody's guess.

With Chester Taylor now injured, Peterson doesn't have any competition.

Hopefully Larry Johnson gets traded to the Cowboys and Julius Jones and the 1st Rd Pick from Cleveland will go to KC.

I vote Peterson.

My favorites to really step it up....

Cedric Benson

Tatum Bell

Adrian Peterson

Brandon Jacobs

Jerrious Norwood

In that order for me.

Are we asking which RBs with an ADP 1.11 & later will break top 10? If so, which RBs are currently considered top 10?

Julius Jones. Alot of people are on the MB III bandwagon but I really believe this is the year Julius breaks out. Under Parcells he ran like a robot and was the total opposite of his rookie season. Pimp MB III all you want but the true value will be in Jones. I think he finishes in top 8-14 range for RB's.

Benson is a top-10 lock barring significant injury.
You think he's that much better than Jones?
I don't think it has anything to do with him being "all that much better than Jones." I think it is predicated on the fact that Jones had to share with Benson more than Benson will have to share with Peterson or Wolfe this year. Meaning more touches and better stats as an individual player.

Some guys who could surprise:

Thomas Jones

LenDale White

Jerious Norwood

Marshawn Lynch

Adrian Peterson

Carnell Williams

Ahman Green

I won't go as far as saying these guys will make the top 10, but I think they all have the talent to outperform their draft slots.

Vernand Morency.

But like EBF says, I won't go as far as saying Morency will make the top 10, but I think he has the talent to outperform his draft slot.

No, I think he meant that Benson is that much better than Jones.

Edge , Ronnie Brown, Ladell Betts , will ALL be top 10 RB's this season. :P

I happen to think Benson is better then Jones, yes. That isn't material to the discussion though, I don't think. My view is that Benson in that offense is a lock for top-10.

If you're using the "in that offense" argument, I think Benson being better than Jones is absolutely material to the discussion. Jones was in that offense last year. He got 297 carries in it, in fact. And with that he was only able to finish as RB18.

The difference between RB10 and RB18 was only 18 points last year. Benson scored 6 TD's last year while Jones was the teams #1 RB option. I doubt that this year the Bears RB#2 Scores 6 TD's.

When your teammates hate you (ask Barlow) what talent you have is meaningless if they won't block for you.

Barlow's OL *couldn't* block. They were terrible. Plus, Barlow sucked as a RB.They're not going to let defensive linemen through because they "hate" Benson. That's an easy way to lose your job.Your statement is inherently ridiculous.

Do people really think Jamal Lewis will have a comeback? He seems bonfiadely washed up at this point.

 at an NFL lineman not blocking for a player they don't like. These guys are freaking professionals.

Portis has to be the guy everyone is afraid of with the tendinitis talk. If healthy he is top 10
