Which RB's finish higher than L. Maroney this year? (1 Viewer)

From all I have seen so far to date, Laurence Maroney is already an outstanding RB. Yes, he shares carries and touches with Dillon. I see his percentages climb to perhaps 65 - 35 Maroney - Dillon by the end of the year. As NE becomes more of a running team, Maroney should see about 20 touches per game (17-18 rushes, 2-3 receptions).

The question is who finishes higher than Maroney in 2006?

Here is my first thoughts:

1. LT (clear #1 in my book)

2. L. Johnson (still a monster)

3. Portis (provided he stays healthy)

4. R. Johnson (solid)

5. Westbrook (see Portis)

6. T. Bell (poised for solid finish)

7. FWP (it's Pittsburgh)

8. Alexander (returns)

9. L. Maroney (hard to keep a good man down)

* I even think L. Maroney could finish in the top 5 this year. If he keeps going like he is, how can anyone, especially Belichek deny the ability? He didn't deny Brady, and he won't deny Maroney. I do think he will keep it manageable for wear and tear.

10 - 20 Jones, Jones, Jones, Jackson, Dunn, Gore, McGahee, R. Brown, Jordan, Barber, Foster

? Addai/Rhodes, Williams, Droughns, James

I do not currently own Maroney, I am seriously considering making a move for him. Looking for Shark Insight :)

Id put Ronnie Brown and McGahee up much higher ahead of Maroney. Ronnie is scoring well in my league and I think hes going to get better. McGahee too. Brown over Westbrook even. McGahee just behind. Than Maroney. IMO Either way though. Get him now.

Maroney is the real deal.....he is what God had in mind when he created any type of "keeper league"

whether it's a one player or whole roster.....

If I was in any type of a keeper league he wouold be my choice right now....hands down....end of story

edit to add: not sure where he will end up this year but it will be MUCH higher then what most projected.....

If Dillon weren't there starting, I'd have Maroney up higher, but I'd include McGahee and Kevin Jones as those above him this year because of their full-time opportunities.

In my keeper league, I love having Maroney, but for this year, I love having McGahee and Kevin Jones, two underrated top RB's. McGahee's quietly leading the NFL in rushing (though some top backs have had a bye), and Kevin Jones is #6 in fantasy points in my main league.

I don't see him getting more then 50% of the touches (unless Dillon goes down). When it gets crunch time, late in the season, i expect that NE would rather have the ball in Dillon's hands. Once the receiving core gets settled and brady gets comfortable with them, then i would expect Maroney to be decent but not a top 20 back. Just my thoughts.
