Which rookie are you most looking forward to watching? (1 Viewer)

Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
I hate to go with the chalk pick here, but MAN... I cannot wait to see Luck play. The kid has it all.

:football:

I love not just his talent, but also his poise and maturity at such a young age. Peyton Manning had a rough rookie year with the Colts. The team was 3-13, and he threw 26 TDs and 28 INTs. I'm not about to predict Indy's 2012 record, but I would be shocked if Luck doesn't have at least five more TDs than picks.

For me it's RG3 and Trent. RG3 because of his game changing talent and Trent because I wanna see just how strong he is against the best defenses in the nfl.

I will go off the board alittle, I want to see Ruben Randle, they say he has all the skills to be a very good NFL wideout but wasn't used enough at LSU, I also want to see Ryan Broyles, if he is healthy I think he becomes in the number 2 in the Detroit very quickly. I also want to see David Wilson because word out of Giant camp is the kid is a beast and has an explosion they have never seen from a running back.

RGIII and Hillman :football:
Gl with watching Hillman, word is he isn't even sniffing being around the starters. Unless he can block great he won't be allowed on the field much to give the defense a chance to crush manning. He'll get sporadic action at most in his rookie year.If they have a sideline cam you might catch a view of him.

Of course I want to see the rookies I own but I think I want to see Quick more then others. First he is coming from a small school and unlike Blackmon, Randle, Broyles,Floyd and the other Wr's Quick will have to be the main recieving weapon from day one. I also think he has a very good young Wr in Bradford who had a very down year so it will be nice to see them grow together.

If I had to say just one player, I would say Kendal Wright because of the Pro Football Weekly story that painted a picture of him as slow, fat and lazy.

The entire WR draft class should be interesting to watch especially the players that were drafted higher than they were projected like AJ Jenkins and Quick.

I think the "Tier 3" RB's will be interesting since they had intrigue but a lot of question marks. I'm talking about Pead, James and Hillman.

Alshon Jeffrey will also be interesting to me since he's been so hotly debated for months.

:goodposting: Broyles and Wilson should be fun to watchI'm curious aboutBlackmon, Floyd, Wright, and Hillman.. I want to see them play. I know Blackmon is supposed to be the best WR in the draft, but can his talent overcome his location. Floyd could be amassing as the guy drawing single coverage in AZ. Wright had questions leading up to the draft, does his NFL play match his college play? Was it all the QB? Is he as shifty/sudden/quick in the field as he looked to be in college, or was his combine 40 really the buzz kill it felt like at the time.. Hillman could be the next great Fox RB. If somehow he gets the opportunity to grab the most carries in DEN, he could be really good..

As a Jets fan, I am looking forward to watching Stephen Hill as a Jets fan, but also as someone who watches a little bit if ACC football. Out of the "three bigs" from GT, he was the least thought of, but when you consider you are comparing him to Calvin and D Thomas, I wonder how much of that criticism is based on that comparison, or on the flipside, is he maybe getting hyped because he has similar measurables to the other two, and will not perform well at all?

I find it interesting the Jets chose not to sign Braylon or Burress, since each would have been a slamdunk for 700 yards receiving. Do they think those numbers go to Schilens, or do they think that is what they can get from Hill at least in Year 1 (or maybe a combo of both). Personally, I don't see how anyone worth their salt can project Schilens for a full slate, so I am guessing the latter here.

I think nick perry and jerel worthy are going to be players to watch. If theyre able to successfully rush the passer for the packers opposite of clay Mathews that could push the packers over the top

For me it's the Packers defense-Perry and CB Casey Heyward, who has great ball skills.

After last years offense if this defense does even middling it will be fun to watch so for me it's Perry.

As a Bills fan it's Stephon Gilmore, the guy has been making plays in camp. Doesnt drink, smoke, rarely goes out. Face in a playbook all the time.

LOL, Hillman will surprise everyone.....except me of course :pics:

As a Jaguars fan I am looking forward to seeing Blackmon, but in terms of fantasy football, I have Trent Richardson on my dynasty team.

Too many to count, some are Tannehill, luck, rh3, Richardson, Martin, Wilson, Pead, wright, Jenkins, fleener.

Couples, Keichley, Hightower, Barron, Upshaw, Kirkpatrick, Claiborne, Reiff and many more.

I h really like Doug Martin I think he is a special player and has a great combination of size speed and agility. He looks like a great all around 3 down back as oppossed to some of the specialty backs. Has a great situation and o-line with TB and I think he will surprise can't wait to see

Hillman

When the Broncos selected Ronnie Hillman in the third round this year, most believed he would play second fiddle to Willis McGahee for at least this year, if not longer. After all, McGahee's rugged style fit head coach John Fox's preferred style of running game, and Fox is notoriously loyal to veterans.

The reality is that it is impossible to anticipate how Fox's previous strategies will carry over to a team with Peyton Manning. McGahee might have been the best answer with Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow at quarterback, but he doesn't seem like a great fit with Peyton Manning. Let's not forget that Hillman was drafted after the Broncos signed Manning, and they were clearly eager to have him, moving up in the third round for the privilege to do do.

The chorus of voices at least leaving open the possibility of Hillman starting continues to grow. First, ESPN 102.3 Insider Cecil Lammey said right after the draft that he wouldn't be surprised if Hillman replaced McGahee as the starter by midseason.

CBS Sports' Rob Rang wrote that Hillman "can be much more" than a complement to McGahee in late May. Rang also praised Hillman for being a "much more complete back" than he is given credit for, and said if McGahee struggles to produce this year and Hillman gets a bigger opportunity, he could be one of the "real steals" of the 2012 NFL Draft.

This week, former NFL scout and current ESPN analyst Matt Williamson told AFC West blogger Bill Williamson (no relation) that he also thinks Hillman could take over for McGahee this year. I agree with Williamson that Hillman's fit in the stretch play-based running game in a Peyton Manning offense is much better than McGahee's.

Hillman's detractors may point out the report from Mike Klis of the Denver Post that Hillman got "nowhere near" the first team in the team's recent mini camp. Let's see if that trend continues through training camp. Hillman obviously has a lot to work on, as does the whole offense in a transition to a Peyton Manning-led attack. If Hillman sits atop the depth chart at running back when that work is done during the season, we won't be able to say that no one saw it coming.

Doug Martin

Brian Quick -- I think the guy's got a #### load of pressure on him for a Round 2 pick to produce and quick (no pun). Guy is going to thrust into the #1 spot IMO right away. Sam Bradford needs a legitimate starting caliber WR to throw to. To date in his career, he's had Brandon Lloyd for a few games. I think Bradford has all the tools to be amongst the NFL's best QB. It'll be a shame if STL can't surround him with some NFL talent weaponry at receiver.
