It's testerone time!

From a few other threads on the topic - I wanted to gather the information about the best "alma mater" to build a FF team.

Obviously, I'm looking for objective opinions - a thing that is hard to find when talking about "your own fraternity"...

I have looked at the active (or suspended) NFL players - if you had to build your FF team from scratch - and if your first 5 picks had to come from the same college... which squad would you want?

Let's assume FBG scoring with a starting lineup of 1QB/1RB/1WR/2Flex - with 1RB max in the flex spots... also, let's ignore the guys are are presently at these colleges or that are retired/out of the NFL - let's focus on actual NFLers...

Which U is the best FF producers / with regards to every positions required?...and why...

(Please note that I had to restrain to 15 choices - only those that had at least 1QB / 1RB / 1WR playing in the NFL as of '06 - this is why we don't see the Buckeyes nor the Fightin' Irish for example)

Some have tremendous talent at one spot - while been soft at others... some are more balanced...

Your thoughts.... all comments are welcomed...

I have to go with the Trojans very slightly over the quarterback-less Hurricanes.

Only 2 Pac-10 teams? Watch out for LHUCKS. :scared:
:lmao:
Maybe the Wildcats with D.Northcutt?... or the Cougars with D.Bledsoe?... any only these guys... :P I have to say that the Ducks had a chance (only missing a WR or TE - Harrington/Droughns/Morris/Parker)... other than that - not much...UCLA is dissapointing with only Foster and Bennett to speak of... maybe adding Drew now... Freddie Mitchell anyone? :lmao: We all know that the Conference of Champions is known for the defensive side of the ball...

How does this help anybody preparing for the FFL season is the bigger question. Clutter.
Pick R. Bush with the first choice of your rookie draft... does that help you?Not enough of the same old "it is LT or LJ in '06?"... need another thread like this?...If you don't know the sleepers/rankings/VBD/APT/projections/busts/RBBC/SOS/Crank by now - you will never know them...

Tough call between the Trojans / Seminoles / Hurricanes...

I'm a bit surprised that the Volunteers didn't get more votes thus far...

Chad Johnson down for the Pac10????

Also, Tony Gonzalez or Todd Heap at TE.

DeShaun Foster is a consideration at RB as well.

This poll was over before it started.

Comes down to the 'Noles and the 'Canes IMHO, with the 'Noles winning it simply because the 'Canes have Dorsey as their QB.

The Beavers have a great trio indeed with CJ - Housh - SJax... tough to find a decent QB though (Eric Wilhelm? yikes!) - they don't get much love in the poll...Gonzalez is the only stud to come out of the Bears system... Kyle Boller maybe?...Same goes for Heap at AzSt... only Walter to add... (maybe Bonds :P )Only the Trojans can yield a good FF team out of the Pac-10... in fact, it is very difficult for a University to develop studs at alot of FF positions (for the NFL)...

No love for the Trojans?... decent players all around...
They could end up being the best, but Bush and White are rookies and Mike Williams does not have me optimisitc about him right about now; in fact, I'd consider replacing him with Colbert.

UCLA's got: Maddox/D. Foster/M. Drew/D. Bennett/Marcedes Lewis.Oregon's got: Harrington-Clemens/Droughns/Maurice Morris/Samie Parker

I thought about that also - to list Colbert... but I left BMW in there - based on pure talent and potential...It's only a "one year" discussion in fact - Jarrett should be sloted there by next year ;)

That is a valid point and a decent squad in my opinion... only the fact that Tommy Maddox is not listed as "active" at nfl.com anymore (meaning that Drew Olson had to be their QB) had them excluded...Other than that - valid squad indeed...

Take a look to the left and see how UGA got their first vote.

I know, if you look at active FF producers (not including Defense) they don't hold up, but I still had to put my two cents in.

I stated the Ducks in the first comment regarding the Pac-10 - only missing a WR or TE to have a complete and good squad...

The Bulldogs would go up quickly if the poll accounted for IDPs (Grant / Davis / Pollack / Thurman to name a few)... Great TEs production though - with McMichael / Watson / Pope... Robert Edwards could have helped at the RB spot

CJ is from Oregon State... not from the Ducks... (the Beavers are already in the poll)...

They have had several older RB's including Terrell Davis and Garrison Hearst to name a couple. Olandis Gary has also been productive but of course injuries have set him back.I also think Musa Smith could produce given the shot, he may not see it though. He likes to stayed injured as well.

The TE's out there are very strong.

Hines Ward tips the scale a bit in their favor, though not enough to put them at the top today.

I just noticed that the Buckeyes aren't on the list. OSU has put out some impressive talent. Do they have enough NFL players for a FF squad?

You can pretty much throw out the entire Slow10 conference...pathetic, pathetic conference.

Simply because they produced tremendous offensive players at the WR position: Galloway / Glenn / Jenkins / Carter / Holmes... but nothing else it seems...Krenzel / Germaine / Hoying at QB? ola!... Wells at RB (or even Clarett? :P ) ... Hartsock or Sanders at TE?...The fact that Eddie George is not active anymore pretty much killed their chances...Now if we added IDP (or non-producing FF position) just think of their '06 class... Hawk / Whitner / Carpenter / Mangold / Youboty (not to mention Holmes)... pretty impressive

I also thought CJ and Housh went to Oregon, not Oregon State, but ESPN and Yahoo have them listed as O Staters!

B.C.

QB Matt Hasselbeck

RB William Green

WR Will Blackmon :bag:

TE ?

OL Damien Woody, Tom Nalen, Marc Columbo, Pete Kendall, Chris Snee, Darnell Alford, Augie Hoffman, Jeremy Trueblood :D

Where's L.S.U.

QB: Rohan Davey or Matt Mauck

RB: Joseph Addai, Domanick Davis, Kevin Faulk, Labrandon Toefield

WR: Eddie Kennison, Josh Reed, Michael Clayton, Skyler Green, Devery Henderson

K/P: Donnie Jones

Def: MacFarland, Spears, Webster, Brady James,

All told there are currently 48 LSU Tigers playing in the NFL. This ranks LSU as one of the top colleges with NFL players.

Valid point - the Tigers (along with the Spartans) were the last two "bubble" teams that didn't make it to the 15 choices... For LSU mainly because of the QB situation (Davey and Mauck are no "top notch talents" FF wise) but Davis / Addai / Kennison / Clayton is a very good 4some...

Same goes for the Spartans - only the fact that Tony Banks is no longer on the nfl.com "active" list excluded them... otherwise Duckett / Burress / Mason / Muhammad would have been a very good 4some...

FYI: the last 10 times that the Big10 has faced the pac10 in the Rose Bowl: the Big10 has won 7 times. Pathetic is a laughable statement.

I don't know who will be the best FF university in 2006, but I went back and figured who would have been the best schools for FF in 2005.

- I used the same 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR/TE, 2 FLEX lineup that the original poster did

- I used standard FBG scoring

- I did not limit schools to 2 RB like the original poster

- I included all schools who scored over 300 points no matter how many players it took to reach that number
