I am toying with the idea of trading the number 1 pick and there is a possibility I could wind up with picks 22, 23, 24, 25, 26

H2H Points league. Basic scoring for points leagues

Would you give up the number 1 for the 5 in a row or keep A Rod

I feel like I get a ton of value with the 5 in a row but I honestly dont know whats best here.

Can I bother you guys with who you think would be available and who would you take with the 5 in a row. We have MI and CI for the first time this year and this is throwing my draft prep off a little because I have never played with those positions.

We start 1 C, 1 1st basemen, 1 second, 1 third, 1 SS, 1 MI, 1 CI, 3 OF, Utility

4 starting pitchers and 2 relivers

here are the guys that went in my draft at those spots last week. HTH

22. Ryan Braun

23. Derrek Lee

24. Mark Teixeira

25. Robinson cano

26. BJ Upton

Thank you for that. I guess my major concern would be that there would be mostly good OF talent but I think I can land some good OF production later in the draft. If those guys fell to me I would be very happy (although I do think Lee going 23 was a little early)

Yeah he was early. Cubs homer.

i voted #1, because AROD is that much better than any individual that even with 2 extra picks it would be hard to make up that value.

so random dudes 1 + 2 +AROD is still > 22,23,26

injuries do happen, but if that is your reason for not taking AROD its comical. the last time AROD did not play more than 153 was in the year 2000.

those same injuries could also hit your picks at 22,23 26.

Thanks, I appreciate that. Your sentiments is exactly what my brother in law and I were just talking about. ARod can win a championship for you alone in H2H with the weeks that he puts up. This is one of the most difficult trade decisions I have ever had

So if I am reading this correct you are trading the #1 for picks 22, 23 and 26.No I would not do it

question should read: would you rather have 1, 24, 25, or 22, 23, 24, 25, 26

Since you are adding two starters, you have to determine what is more valuable: ARod plus your 16th and 17th rounders or the 22, 23 and 26 picks. In a points league, I think it would be worth it to have the extra picks.

Sorry, I thought that was implied

Upton and Tex already gone, here's what a recent draft looked like

22. Carlos Lee

23. Ryan Braun

24. Carl Crawford

25. Ichiro Suzuki

26. Lance Berkman

10 teams. H2H

Wow I wish Braun fell that far in my league. That's ridiculous. Also a little high for Cano.
Cano went with pick 20 in my last draft
I drafted Cano at #57 on Wednesday. Braun was pick #10. I was hoping for him at 17 but I knew he would be gone.

57 is closer to correct. I don't know what his ADP is but I'd bet its closer to 57 than it is to 20. I'd say around 45 or so.

Canos ADP as of right now is somewhere between 51 and 61

Quick Update,

The guy who I had a secondary deal with balked and started asking for too much.

So the deal I wound up making was my 1, 8, 6, 10 and 11 for the number 2 picks 2, 3, 4, 6, 10,

So I am out of the 1st round but by the end of the 7th round I will have 9 players and I get to move up one spot in the 6th and 10th. Not what I originally wanted but I still felt like their was too much value for me to not do the deal. Only time will tell (Saturday to be precise) if I made the right deal. I am giving away Arod but I think what I am getting back is better (nothing is really better but at least just as good and I get extra guys)

For anyone still following this, I am at a crossroad. I have two offers on the table for the number and I cant decide which one to take and if I want to make the deal in the first place.

The numbers are picks not rounds

First Deal: (see post above-Have not pulled trigger yet) my 1, 72, 96, 120 and 121 for the 23, 26, 47, 71, 119 (Rounds 1, 6, 8, 10 and 11 for rounds 2, 3, 4, 6, 10- 6 and 10 are swaps)

Second Deal: I give 1, 48, 72, 96 and 145, I get 3, 22, 70, 94 and 99 (Rounds 1, 4, 6, 8 and 13 for rounds 1, 2, 6, 8 and 9- 6 and 8 are swaps)

OR: I keep the Number 1 and draft normal after Arod.

Someone talk me off my cliff.
