We did this about this time last year, and it was a trip for those involved. It sounds like a few guys are itching to get this going again, so I thought I'd start a thread for it.
For those unfamiliar, this was origanelly Fullback Fro's idea last year, and we tried it a few different ways before settling on some rules that kept the heart of Fro's idea alive while becoming workable (the origanel draft attempts were DISASTERS).
The origanel premise was to make every NFL player available to every drafter, regardless of draft position, by judicious use of "steals". We quickly discovered that that just didn't work, but came up with a set of rules which allowed roughly half of all players drafted to be "stealable".
Scoring was the same as all the other FBG survivor drafts, as was the serpentine draft format. The differance is that you have 5 (at least we used five last year) "steals". There are very strict rules on how/when you can perform a steal. Use them wisely, and come out ahead. Use them poorly, and you're screwed. Draft strategy is every bit as important as having a good ranking list.
I'll go with whatever the consensus is on a start date. For those involved last year, is there anything we need to change? Let's use this as a sign up thread as well.
For those unfamiliar, check out the elephant threads from last year, but here's the steal rules:
STEAL TEST:
A PLAYER MAY BE STOLEN IF AND ONLY IF IT PASSES THIS TEST:
1. Is it that owner's last pick taken? If yes....
2. Have I made a pick (of any type...steal, original, or repick) since this player was FIRST DRAFTED FROM THE PLAYER POOL....if no, then....
3. Did I have the opportunity to steal this player before (while I was on the clock)...if no....then
4. Have I ever owned this player before? If no, then...
You can steal him.
