Who are the top sharks here? (1 Viewer)

I'm new to these boards, but so far it seems like everyone who posts here is a shark. There are statistical analyses here that I would never even THINK of doing, much less get off my butt and do. I have to admit that personally, I don't study stats to find trends nearly as much as I should, and I go with my gut and my memory more often than I should.Posting here with such football gods is very challenging, but I'm working on it.This is a fun place. Hopefully over the next few months you all can get to know me while I dissect each and every post on here :P . Maybe at the end of this year I can be more specific as to who the best sharks are.

Personal Staff faves are Woodrow, Yudkin and Drinen...Colin when hes not talking about the Titans.MB faves are Sammy, BJ&TU5, BassNBrew...the "Player Value" article that incorporated the opinions of 20 MB posters is a pretty solid list of the top non-staff writers.

I like the guys who have proven they are right more than wrong over the years. A lot of the posters who hack stats to make a point come across as very smart, but in the end their predictions are wrong more than right.

Give me a one line post from a poster who I know is usually right anyday over a poster who writes an essay chopping stats to draw a conclusion that ends up wrong most of the time.

There are many great posters who write essays who have shown they are successful in predicting future success, but there are just as many stat choppers/essay writers whos predictions have been wrong time and time again, yet people get clouded by their 3 hour seminar and don't realize their past predictions have been very poor.

Give me a guy who I know has been right in the past like jwjwjwjwjwjwj using a one liner, "this player is going to be good this year" over another who spends 3 days writing a thread who is wrong time and time again.

New members don't have the past knowledge of posters success, so they will be usually side with the stat hacker everytime, which can be a big mistake.
Well said.
