Who are you benching this week? (1 Viewer)

Some interesting misses last time out. I was pretty successful going with Vick over Brady.

What crazy thing are you doing this week? I'm going to bench Ronnie Brown for Jason Snelling.

Nothing, normal starters that most people would agree with. The bolded guys in my sig.

I guess Tolbert over Wells? Wells is sketchy right now though.

im starting Demaryius Thomas over crabtree but im not sure if that would be against the grain, its borderline at best.

I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but considering Dez Bryant over Boldin. Yeah it's Cleveland, but Flacco scares me and he didn't light it up last year in his games with Cleveland.

Probably not a super crazy play but I am going Moreno over Fitz in a ppr. Seems a little off for me since I can't remember the last time I sat Fitz.

benching Gonzo for A Hernandez
Actually not a bad call. I am benching both Carlson and Keller for Hernandez even though Keller has a decent matchup and Carlson is going against SD which gives up TDs to TEs. Keller might also have it tougher this week if Braylon doesn't play since he will see tighter coverage. Hernandez hasn't scored a TD yet (noone can score every week anyway) so I think he's due. Plus, NE is playing Buffalo and is coming off a loss. I almost feel sorry for the Bills. Just a hunch.

I don't understand the benching of Best. The Vikes are not the same team they were last year plus Best will have plenty of passing targets.

I'll be playing Hernandez indefinitely, Brady loves him and he's a WR disguised as a TE

:thumbup:I've been a lifelong Lions fan.... if something "seems" too good to be true regarding the Lions, it usually is.That being said, I fully expect Best to have another monster game with him on my bench. I own him in twoleagues and am only benching him in one...my cheap league. I still have him starting in my big money league.

starting Demaryius Thomas over DeAngelo Williams and Ahmad Bradshaw in a PPR league.
This I wouldn't do. I would start DeAngelo but that's just me.
I understand how you feel but DeAngelo has not done anything for me the past few weeks and the whole Carolina team looks like a complete mess. Cincy has a good defense as well.
Need to wait for Jeff Otah to get healthy for DWill & the running game in Carolina to get going again. :missing:

Benching Romo Starting Vick. Going against the numbers but Vick seems to have momentum and a team that believes in his abilty.

Houston gave up:

PManning 40/57 433yds 3 TD 0 INT

McNabb 28/38 400yds 1 TD 0 INT

(Romo should do well if the offense can get synchronized - timing is horrible)

Jacksonville gave up:

Rivers 22/29 326yds 3TD 2INT

Orton 21/33 274yds 1 TD 1 INT

(Vick's has a point to prove and is very sharp)

Ultimately the lack of coordinated offensive attack and absolutely zero timing of Dallas forces me to start Vick.

Benching Jahvid Best this week. Starting Mendenhall and Foster.
Learned my lesson, never benching Best again, even if he breaks every bone in his body AND goes heads up solo vs. 12 players on defense.
I don't think I have a choice. Mendenhall against Tampa and Foster against Dallas. Tough decisions. Best against Minny.
I didn't think I had a choice last week with Deangelo vs. Tampa and Bradshaw vs. Indy. Best against Philly was the worst matchup so I sat him. That didn't work so well.

Everything is stacked up against Deangelo and Carolina this week, they have little to no hope.....which is why I'm starting Deangelo. The NFL is crazy.

Sitting Hines for M. Williams (TB). Hines is reportedly dinged up (groin I believe) and not feeling much confidence in Batch throwing to him.

Course, this will mean Ward blows up for 7 catches, 115 yds, and a TD

I don't see my Browns getting 20 min Time of Possession. That should give all the Ravens ample time to pile up stats / points.

McFadden over S. Jackson (if M. Bush is out).

I don't know if that's really so crazy after these past 2 weeks. It still feels pretty crazy to write though.

Sitting DWill for Bradshaw has been my plan all week..............and it appears that putting DWill on the bench this week is a popular trend. WHICH SCARES ME! But, DWill hasn't had many holes to run through and seeing him trot off.........and Stewart trot on.......for the goal-line carry last week pissed me off! Oh, and the Bengals are no slouch on defense.

Also benching H. Ward for M. Williams (Tampa).

I have the same 3 backs. I'm starting Foster and Best and benching Mendenhall for Mike Tolbert in the Flex spot.EDIT: to add mention of Flex spot.

benching Charles for Tolbert
I'm likely doing the same.I see people benching several different players for Tolbert this week but I think we should use some caution here. Seattle has been stifling against the run this far and have one of the best home field advantages in football.I think it's crazy to bench Best for Tolbert, especially in PPR leagues, but we shall see.

I have Bradshaw as well. I have a bad feeling that B Jacobs gets his head straight and Coughlin leans on him a little more this week. 50-50 split just like in week 1 I think.

Considering starting Austin Collie over Hakeem Nicks.

I think that Tenn might shut down the Giants passing game.

Have you read/heard anything about this happening.................or strictly your gut feeling?

Little tidbits but I guess I read between the lines some as well....
Brandon Jacobs said he finally got an explanation regarding his demotion to backup status and is now in the "right frame of mind."

The explanation was likely quite simple; Ahmad Bradshaw is a better running back. Jacobs is going to have to re-establish a north/south power running style before he gets significant carries again. The 264-pounder is averaging 3.3 yards per carry this season after posting a 3.7 mark last year.
After meeting with GM Jerry Reese and coach Tom Coughlin on Monday, Brandon Jacobs issued a statement Tuesday denying that he has demanded a trade.

"I have not demanded a trade and have no plans to demand a trade," Jacobs said. "The only demand I am making right now is of myself, to be the best player I can be and to help this team win." Jacobs has been fined $10,000 for throwing his helmet into the stands Sunday night. He had no prayer of getting traded at a $3.65 million base salary.
The Giants need to revive their thunder/lightning running game. I think maybe I was wrong by saying 50/50, but it's not going to be far off. I believe Jacobs will run with passion and authority on Sunday. We won't be seeing him heading east/west like that ridiculous effort he gave against the Colts.
