Who are you taking at 1.07? (1 Viewer)

Goooals

Thought I would start a few of these to get the juices flowing.

Who to target at 1.07?

Standard PPR lineup and standard scoring.

For me,

Calvin if he falls

Chris Johnson

Assuming 4RB's (Foster, Rice, McCoy & Matthews), 1QB (Rogers) are off the board.

I suppose it depends on who falls to me, but I would be targeting Mathews or Brady. If those guys are gone, I would probably take Calvin or Chris Johnson as was stated.

Highly doubt Calvin will fall, but if he does, it likely means Chris Johnson has gone before him. I am doing a bunch of drafts now, and in PPR, Calvin is ALWAYS going 1.04...without fail. Matthews or Rodgers seem to be next so you are looking at Chris Johnson, Brady, Graham (maybe) or Forte, and usually slight scoring differences dictate who you take. Personally, I would go CJ over Forte, but it is really "ladies choice" on that one.

I really don't think (unless someone gets injured) that 1.07 is a good spot this year...1.08 I like better.

Depending on the website, Megatron adp is right now around 1.06 to 1.08.

FFC 1.07

MDC 1.06

AS 1.08

So quite possible he does fall. You have the big 3 RB's, the big 3 QB's, Megatron and that Matthews/Chris Johnson mess. Inevitably someone is going to do something crazy like McFadden.

I have the 1.05 and am having the same struggle. I'm torn between Matthews, CJ, and Forte (assuming Calvin is gone). MJD would be in the discussion but it sounds like things could get ugly there. My gut says CJ, Forte, Matthews, in that order, but not sure I can pull the trigger. It's a draftmasters league so I was hoping to avoid an early QB pick.

If I had to make the pick tonight, I'd probably take Matthews, but I am worried about him being capable of handling the workload they're going to give him.

At picks 1.04 and 1.05, I think Matthews if off the board. The other pick, if drafts were today, is either Rogers or Calvin. With that said, you are left with Chris Johnson, Calvin or Rogers at 1.07. With MJD now out of the mix at that spot, its now up to personal stategy on whether you take a QB, RB or WR. I'm leaning RB because if only Rogers is taken up to that point, I can still go elite QB or WR at the wrap, unless an elite RB falls in the second.

I took Chris Johnson over Brady. Matthews and Megatron were gone.
Assuming Chris Johnson is the pick, what are we looking at in the 2nd?Possible RB - MJD, Murry, Bradshaw, Charles, Peterson, S. Jackson or F. JacksonPossible QB - Vick, Stafford, Rivers or RomoPossible WR - Jones, Johnson, Fitz or WhiteThis is the toughest pick if you ask me.Thoughts?

7-12 just got harder now that matthews is out. 4,5 and 6 is now (in some order) Chris Johnson, Calvin and Rogers.

At 7, we are left with a top QB, DMC or what?

Not liking this at all.

Thoughts?

Sorry I missed this earlier. I think it depends on what you're wanting in Round 2. I want to get two good RBs in my first two picks because it's thin this year. Murray was still there in Round 2, so I nabbed him. If he would have been gone I would have taken SJax. I'm really high on him this year. Fitz was already gone and he's really the only WR I would want in Round 2. Maybe Marshall in a PPR...

It is definitely more difficult. Had my draft been this weekend, I would have taken Brady. Megatron was pick before 1.7 as well as Rodgers. Go with a QB and then get a low tier RB in Round 2 IMO...

I think I agree with you and am thinking brees or brady may now be the choice. Not sure I can take DMC, Forte, Richardson there.

I don't think this changes things that much. If you pick from 7-12, you can still get two very solid RBs if you want there. Sure you may have to pay what seems like a higher price than you'd like for a Chris Johnson, MJD, DMC, Forte, TRich, Murray with your first pick, but you can still grab two of these guys in most drafts. Heck, you can now throw Mathews into this bunch if you want to take on the higher risk/higher reward RB.

If you strategy was to target Brees, Brady, Gronk or Graham with one or both of your first two picks, nothing is stopping you from doing that either.

Mathews' injury changes nothing except for the fact that he becomes available to you if you want to take on the risk.

I tried 2 mocks going QB first. I wound up not liking the RB's there and took Gronk/Graham. My team has more wekness than I am used to at RB and WR. I think you are stuck going RB in the first. Then take a TE/QB or what ever you want.

I am gonna try many more at the #7 pick I will let you know. I liked my first 5 Brady/Graham/bradshaw/Dez/Mcgahee but I was not thrilled with my other WR's. Those are not ideal RB's for me either. I took K.Smith and some other guys later.

Whoever is left of the top 3 RBs or the top 4 QBs. I think there will be a good bit of separation after those tiers. Gronk and Graham seem like better round 2 targets.
