Who are you taking with the last pick in your draft? (1 Viewer)

in 2005 I took Droughns, and last year I took Betts. Both end up being great picks. Besides Kickers and defenses who are you taking with the last pick in your draft?

I am in a 25 round IDP so it depends on how the chips fall but I am thinking it may be:

Visanthe Shiancoe, or Chad Greenway.

Two months ago I was only thinking about Shiancoe, but I am getting a little unsure. I keep hearing the only reason he has a lot of upside is because of the contract the Vikings gave him. That doesn't seem like enough of a reason to take him, even if it is with the last pick.

I think Greenway will fly way under the radar in my leauge and he has a great chance to finish as a low range #2LB.

I took Williamson...but didn't get a kicker. I usually try and move two players for a better one to create the roster space. Otherwise I will drop Williamson for a kicker.

Ive taken Jason Snelling as the last pick before my kicker and defense in a couple of drafts, but a lot depends on how many rds, and how many teams are drafting. Also if its a redraft or dynasty.

BPA
BPA? So you would take someone like Kennison, Bobby Engram or Amani Toomer with your last pick.....someone is absolutely no upside and will just waste space on your bench all season, lucky to get a start on a bye week.Personally for my it's most likely to be my kicker I'm taking in the last round but if I am picking a skill position at this stage, I want someone a sleeper with upside if their situation falls right for them. Two guys I like at this point that haven't been mentioned are Jerome Harrison & Maurice Stovall.

Took Furrey. Don't know how a guy with 98 receptions last year is going undrafted just because Calvin Johnson was drafted. Roy Williams isn't exactly the most durable guy and Furrey seems like a perfect pick there imo.

I got Bobby Engram with my last pick and was very happy with him!

Its a 32 team keeper league, 16 teams per conference.

Hester,

someone said olsen, above, i think he will be gone by then. from what i hear, olsen is the most NFL ready rookie the bears had in a long time.

Everyone listed here, except Sorgi, has already been taken. It's round 18 of 25.

Probably someone like Kris Wilson or Darren Sproles.

20 rds dynasty the last few rounds i picked jason hill, jason campbell, kenny irons and zach millerany hype on sproles? any chance he takes some of turners carries? or just KR

Joey Harrington is 3 leagues. :goodposting:
lol. When did Harrington get good again?
I loved Harrington's speech on the NFL Network...I paraphrase the BS for comedic value.

Michael Vick is the best player in the NFL. Michael Vick is the best player in the Universe! I owe it to myself, my team, the fans and my mommy not to try and be Michael Vick!

At least harrington understands politics enough to get 2-3 more years out of this job. :own3d:

My kicker, duh.
Why duh? WRs are a dime a dozen after the first 20 WRs. Tehyre pretty much interchangeable. Wr is the position with the highest turnover (WW) in my league. With a limit of 4 WRs per team in my league, I cannot remember the last time I stayed with all 4 of my drafted Wrs all year. I take my kicker in the second to the last round (since everyone waits until the last). I usually get a decent backup K with no bye week conflict (we draft 2K). My lsat pick is a flier on a WR that will most likely be dropped at some point (theres ALWAYS a WR thats comes out of nowhere each year available on the WW). So I guess it all depends on your league setup and rules. Its not 'duh'.

Sure, if you have a large roster. In my 4WR max league, he's more of a good WW pickup IF Roy or Calvin go down.

good topic. what is Dwayne Bowe's ADP? i like what i am hearing of Croyle coming out of KC's camp. seems like forever since KC had anyone other than steady but unspectacular Kennison. that has to change at some point doesnt it?

ill say Bowe for now.

Brad Smith - A do-everything player that practices as WR and then puts on a red jersey and takes snaps as QB for the Jets.

Debating who to take right now for my last pick in a PPR league...

This is a 'best ball' format where your only best players totals are used - there are no lineups submitted.

Here's some that I'm considering:

WR - Mike Williams - A fresh start, being reunited with Lane Kiffin, and being allowed to play at 235lbs. instead of 220 might be just what he needs. Training camp reports are positive so far and they appear to be using his size and strength in the red zone. Big risk, but the physical size and his skill set that allowed him to catch so many TDs in college is still lurking.

WR - Bryant Johnson - Contract year and one of the better 3rd WRs out there. If Boldin or Fitz suffer injury, Johnson could step up very big indeed. Even if he is relegated to slot WR all season I like him in best ball format. A little nervous about all of the talk of the offense becoming more run oriented.

WR -Bobby Engram - PPR value and he would by my last WR, so I think he's a nice conservative pick. I'm worried about his health though. If his thyroid condition is under control then he should return to productive levels 50+ receptions, 500+ yds., 2-4TDs

WR - Demetrius Williams - A lot of FBGs are very high on him based on last year's performance down the stretch. According to Pasquino he's well suited for a format that doesn't require you to guess which weeks he busts out, so I think I'm leaning this way due to the format. If I had the ability to make in season roster moves, then I would consider him to be waiver wire material unless he really impresses in preseason.

If TE is required (2PPR in the league I'm in)

TE - David Martin - nice potential considering his high catch per target ratio and the absence of a solid WR crew in Miami. I worry about his ability to stay healthy and the uncertainty of the Dolphin offense. There's plenty of discussion on him to be found in the shark Pool.

TE - Eric Johnson - Not enough footballs to go around but he if healthy the 2 Pts per reception formats make Johnson a very intriguing late choice. 82 receptions a few years ago in SF...
