Who do you "HAVE TO HAVE" this year (1 Viewer)

Ive been taking Felix Jones and/or Jahvid Best as my top 2 RB's in all of my recent redrafts.Nate Burelson and Lee Evans have been the WR's i am targeting after the 10th round as my #4/5 WR's.Gates or Finley in the 4th or 5th, if i miss aone of them its Zach Miller in the 7th/8th and backing one of them up woth Scheffler, or Ben Watson.
You are a gambler no doubt...both are super fast and one is brittle and theother is a rookie who has been nicked. Your handle say's it all. On that note here are a few guys I am going to target in my only redraft (yep I caved in and joined a local 12 team redraft for some fun we draft this Sunday night)1) Donald Driver - Mr. reliable always undervalued2) Ahmad Bradshaw - No question in my mind this teams lead dog in PPR3) Steve Slaton - Bargin basement special.4) CJ Spiller - Superstar in the making right now5) Ronnie Brown - Stays healthy...PPR gold this year high risk/high reward this season (contract year).
I found drafting talent is the best way to go. Players that talented dont last past the 4th round if they dont have a question mark. Youre right, Best is a rookie, and Jones has been unable to stay healthy. However, i dont play FF to have an OK team, i want to win it all or nothing. I do like your #2,3, and 4 guys for that very reason. Ronnie Brown might not be bad in a redraft, but he has been going a bit high for my liking in a few drafts i did recently.I know Driver has been underrated for years now, but i actually think this is the year his production takes a nose dive.

For all the fellow Bradshaw supporters, how early is too early? I am afraid I might have to reach and take him in the 5th because he won't be available for my 6th round pick. any of you in the same boat?

I think I'm going to end up biting my fingers until the 6th. The 5th is just too early even though he does have a lot of potential this year. I don't have enough balls to wait until the 7th, I commend you.

I really like him a lot. I pick 5th this year in a 12 teamer. So it all depends how my draft goes and if I need my RB2 in the fifth round. This league also give 6 points per passing TD so elite QB's are a premium. My plan A is1.5 Gore (but you never know one of these guys may take Rodgers or Brees in the top 4 I have seen it in this league so MJD may fall to me)2.6 Best available3.5 Best Available4.6 Best Available5.5 Best AvailableAfter my first pick I takith what the draft givith. I think I can get value at QB (that can give me elite numbers) later say 3rd or 4th round so 2nd round it will be highest rated points per game guy between WR or RB.I don't see taking Bradshaw in the 5th....but I would pull the trigger in the 6th if he is there as an RB 3

We think alike. I always draft elite talent and skills above everything else. I play to win (go for it all) as well. And I will reach for a guy like Spiller or Best this year.

What do you consider "reaching" for Spiller and Best?10 team - where would you reach for each?12 team - where would you reach for each?

redraft ppr I took Spiller at 5.09 and Bradshaw 7.09. Best was gone at 3.07.

Im not usually a "post your roster" type of dork, but due to lack of motivation, all of my fantasy football research this year came entirely from reading this thread. I havent watched a second of pre-season, havent read a bit of news, and had no idea who Jahvid Best or Johnny Knox even were before I opened this thread. If I have any success this year, I owe it all to you guys! Anyway, here's my roster for posterity's sake. I drafted 7th in a 14-team league and after the first two rounds I drafted only guys I read about here.

Andre Johnson

Peyton Manning

Jahvid Best (was expecting laughter, but got the opposite)

Michael Crabtree (was hoping for Finley here, but he went 4 picks earlier as the #2 TE)

Ahmad Bradshaw (was torn btwn him and Reggie Bush)

Reggie Bush (was thrilled that he was still there)

Johnny Knox (similar response as Best)

Zach Miller (considered Winslow here, but no one mentioned him so I stuck to my plan)

Leon Washington

Mike Thomas

Laurent Robinson

Aaron Hernandez

Kicker and D

5-6 seems about right but it depends who you're drafting against and how many teams. Savvy owners will target him id say around 5-6 so reaching at 5 aint the worst idea, if he is your #3 back. I had a draft week ago, had the 2nd pick and nabbed him in the 6th as my #3 in a 14 team league. I really like his upside this year, but I am not sold on him being a #2 back given injury history. Saying that I am targetting this dude in every draft I do this year.

My 12 year old son wanted to "play" fantasy football for the first time this year, so we drafted "together" last night (meaning I drafted and he crossed players of our draft list :D ). So in the Yahoo Public league I got him in, we got Bradshaw in the 8th :P Yeah, its a public league, but I figured it's a good way to get him started early on his FFB addiction!

A few of my targetted guys are M. Bush, L. Washington, S. Moss, F. Taylor (very late) and M. Williams (TB).

I just got Spiller at 6.06 in a three-man keeper; stoked!

Finding myself skipping over the top tier wrs this year and getting guys I want then coming back and picking up guys I think are high upside later.

Romo - 3 of 5 teams

Best - 3 of 5

Nicks - 4 of 5

Harvin - 3 of 5 (was on 4 but just traded him in one league)

Top 4 TE (Gates/Finley/Davis) - 4 of 5

I have two more leagues (ooof) and probably will see a bunch of these guys on those teams too.

Last time I had this type of consistency was Tom Brady in 2008, I think he was on 4 teams. Hopefully, these will work out better.

I like to put together pockets of guys. Here is my first pocket after the 3rd. I take em til they run out.

Romo - round 4 if he's there

Finley - Apparently he challenged a brick wall to a tennis match and won.

Spiller - I like Mathews, Best and Foster, but they are not there that late. Foster is an over pay that early.

TO - Worth the potential pro bowl 1300 and 10

MBIII

The later pocket.

Jacoby Jones

Dexter McCluster

Mike Williams not the other one. The one from SEA

Hugggins

Santana Moss. Never owned him, but he's McNabb's new BFF in the Shanny west coast offense. 7th-10th round.
Great call. I have had him twice before and been disappointed. This year, though, I fully embrace the koolaid and was targeting him as a WR3. Wound up getting him as a WR4 in the 9th round.

I had I had hoped to get Marion Barber at his 5th round ADP but passed because J. Charles was there and then was very happy to see Barber in the 6th...Also got Bradshaw in 7th and Knox in 8th

I don't HAVE to have anyone, but my behavior is telling me -Antonio Gates (3 of 4 leagues)-Percy Harvin (3 of 4 leagues)-Tony Romo (2 of 4 leagues)-Joseph Addai (2 of 4 leagues)-Owen Daniels (2 of 4 leagues)-Vincent Jackson (2 of 4 leagues)-Brett Favre (2 of 4 leagues)-Donald Brown (2 of 4 leagues)-Brandon Jacobs (2 of 4 leagues)There are others but they're deeper dynasty prospects.We'll see how my last 2 drafts go...
Gates 5 of 6Harvin 4 of 6Romo 3 of 6Addai 3 of 6Donald Brown 3 of 6Pierre Thomas 3 of 6Flacco 3 of 6Mike Williams (Tampa) 3 of 6McCluster 3 of 6Owen Daniels 3 of 6

Foster, Crabtree and Bradshaw are on both rosters but I drafted way early this year so I didn't pay the price guys are now.

I'd still want them, but look at the markup. sheesh.

Got Mike Wallace late on one and it looks good starting week 6.

Floyd is starting to look like a true value and I wished I'd gotten him.

CJ Spiller 3/4

Miles Austin 3/4

Frank Gore 2/4

Donald Brown 2/4

Matthew Stafford 2/4

Rashard Mendenhall 2/4
