Who has the better tasting Koolaid (1 Viewer)

perry147

Both of these guys are moving up fast in drafts over the past week. In one draft I saw Ricky go in the 6th and Perry in the 10th.

So which of these two teasers do you take a chance on?

ETA: Corrected the spelling error.

Ricky's would be more of a Marijuana tasting flavor vs Perry's probably a sour piss type flavor since he's left owner's POed and sour from the disappointment he's caused.

I'm not a big Marijuana fan, but also don't like drinking Pee either. I guess if I had to choose I'd take the one I could get the latest, so I don't have to drink until absolutely necessary.

I can't believe I would ever say this but if Perry manages to not hurt himself he'll be the better of the 2 and looks like he's cheaper as well

:thumbup:Classic.I think Perry has a lot bigger upside but Ricky might be a safer pick since his only other competition has been rumored to have the birth name of Ronnie "Even my thumbs are fragile" Brown. So it can go either way, really.

If I had a gun to my head I would select the running back offering the better value, which appears to be Chris Perry (right now). Given that both players have basically been out of the league for the past two seasons, I don't really trust either one of them.

slayer wait....

The one I was able to get is Perry, but I have to be honest and say it's definitely Ricky.

1) Past performance: Ricky Williams has been a stud RB1 in the NFL. Safe to say, not the case with Perry.

2) Competition: Yes, Ronnie Brown was great last year until he got hurt, but he's still nursing several injuries and it's quite likely that he will miss at least a handful of games. I think it's pretty unlikely that Perry will ever get a full workload in a game in 2008 - Rudi is Rudi, and Watson was solid last year.

3) Injury: Let's be honest. Perry will likely get injured again and render this discussion moot.

You don't want to make any esplling errors on this web site!

Drafters have had a longer time to think about Ricky and he has been pimped on more than one site as a "sleeper" pick. Chris Perry has been a slow blooming flower, so to speak, so his perceived value is lower. I would go with Perry mostly because he is younger. Ricky has been more productive when on the field in the past. Perry really hasn't had an opportunity to create much more than an image of opportunity based on collegiate production and fleeting NFL sitings. I rather take a shot at youthful upside in my dynasty league.

With these two guys I have each in two different leagues. Ricky in a pure dynasty and Perry in a contract/salary cap league. Just giving full disclosure here. Oh, and I only play in dynasty type leagues.

That being said, Ricky is old. He may not have a lot of miles, but he is old. Takes longer to heal. I don't care what kind of strenuous yoga workout program the guy has. If he plays 16 games this year I would be surprised. I would think 13-14 would be a good number and provide good value in those games.

Perry is much younger and can play for a few more years barring the very large chance of an injury. So for me, I like Perry better in terms of long term production. Does anyone really expect Ricky to be much of anything next year at, what, 33? If Perry stays healthy we could see Rudi looking for work and Perry at the top of the depth chart in 2009.

black cherry kool-aid rules all

I'd say Perry simply because I think he is the better value at this point. In early August I was targeting Ricky all the way around Round 10sih, but now that he is shooting up the boards, I don't think he has as much value as a RB3 in the 6th. I'd probably only grab him if I went QB early. Perry, OTOH, I'd still grab without hesitating in Round 10, so black&orange Kool-aid for me. (Mmmm, tastes a Halloween scratch 'n sniff)

How cares. These two are at the top of a "how's how" list of annual disappointment.
Where can I find this "how's how" list you speak of?Also, who is How, and why does he care?

I beg to differ. I am not the guy how started this thread down this path. It was the guy how started this thread and never bothered to fix the title, that's how. I just asked a simple question :D
Congrats, you corrected a message boarder's poor grammar and ruined a thread in the process. I'm sure your mother is proud.:hands fanatic a cookie:

Actually, I corrected what was probably a spelling mistake. And of course I did so all by myself. No one jumped on and had a little fun as well. But hey, don't worry. There will undoubtedly be another dozen or so threads on these two guys in the next week or so you can chime in on. They won't be as fun as this thread has been, but they will certainly regurgitate the exact same info the last 8 or so threads on Perry and Ricky have covered already...Oh, and lighten up bro. It's an anonymous message board not the reading of a will or anything....

I'd take Peter in the 7th ahead of both these guys; but I really like Bryan in the late first or early second. No one is as determined, imaginative and angry as that kid!!!!
