Big Eagles fan here. This Gary Cobb has been calling the Samuel deal for a couple of days, and news now is that it may happen.

Now the reports are following that this is a stepping stone to a Lito Sheppard for Fitz deal.

So is this Gary Cobb a credible source, or does he throw crap like this up all the time, but now that he has two huge names he is making headlines?

I know he is an ex eagle, but I don't live in Philly and I don't listen to his show. I've seen his name pop up from time to time, but the past few days he has really started a frenzy at PE.com. I just wanted to know if he has been reliable in the past, you know he's not the first philly radio guy to start spreading rumors.Thanks for adding nothing.

He's popped up on the Philly news scene in the last few years and has been building himself up as an insider. Truth be told, he's just as likely to relay rumors he's FED (meaning misdirection) than anything else, but he DOES appear to have access to both the locker room rumors and the personnel department.

As to whether he's really an insider; this free agency period will go a long way in proving that frankly. If the Eagles don't sign Samuel (or at least make a big attempt) AND/OR don't then try to trade for Fitz; it appears he'll be just another guy trying to make a name for himself by parroting unfounded rumors.
