Anyone have any idea or inside info on who will be the kicker in No?
They were 10th in potential kicking points last year (which supports your claim), though they were 6th in the league in quantity of 4th down conversion attempts which is high for a winning team. Cincinnati, a team with only 22 FGAs last year, was the only other winning team in the top 10. With a more accurate kicker the 4th down attempts would go down and potential kicking points would go up.Whoever the NOS kicker, you're better off looking elsewhere. The Saints kicker has the highest floor and lowest ceiling. You can do much better.
Uh,.....Graham was already making the league minimum $955K based on the one-year deal he signed last February.Captain Hook said:I somewhat agree with Nittany Lion because Graham wasn't a guy trying out for a team - he had a contract which they invalidated by dropping him before the deadline leading several to think they will bring him back as long as he agrees to a cheaper deal.
I wouldn't doubt a bit that their "potential kicking points" took a hit because Hartley was damn near the worst FG kicker in the league. With a more capable leg, they probably don't go for it on quite so many 4th downs in enemy territory. They were 10th in potential kicking points last year (which supports your claim), though they were 6th in the league in quantity of 4th down conversion attempts which is high for a winning team. Yes, that's the theory. Finishing 16th in actual kicking points and 10th in potential (ie pts scored assuming every FGA and XPA was good) is one good representation of the Saints' kickers inaccuracy in 2013 and the elevated 4th down attempts is another. So you'd assume Top 10 is there for the taking (which is barely starting in most leagues), but there's some upside there after that.I wouldn't doubt a bit that their "potential kicking points" took a hit because Hartley was damn near the worst FG kicker in the league. yup,Looks like it is Graham again.
Thank you, oh mighty universe!!!I am entreating the universe on an hourly basis that they re-sign Shayne Graham, FWIW. Every hour that passes that they don't make an announcement, I'd like to think increases that likelihood, because if they're going to bring in someone else, they should be spending every minute they possibly can getting him acclimated to the long-snapper and holder...
