Who is the best backup QB in the league? (1 Viewer)

I am inclined to beleive that Kurt Warner is first but I think Seneca Wallace could be a star. He is a backup that I think would produce better stats than Hasslebeck does now. Who do you think qualifies?

While it didn't look like it last week, I'd say Matt Cassel. Give him a 1st team o-line plus Moss, Welker, Watson etc. and watch him throw for 25+ TD's. Honorable mention for Warner and Sorgi for the same reason as Cassel.

I would say Warner first, then Brady Quinn. While Sorgi and Casell may be in better situations, Brady is a much better prospect and his weapons are equal to Indy (I believe they are).

I think Brad Johnson's tank is empty. Kurt Warner gets my vote (his tank should be empty but I don't think it is yet).

Sage Rosenfels merits consideration. AJ, Walter, Davis, Jones, and Daniels isn't a bad receiving corps, and the RB situation is less than desirable....

whenever i see Kerry Collins step in these days he slings it really good.

i think he is better than a lot of starters in this league.

I could see these guys excelling:

Kurt Warner

Brady Quinn

Sage Rosenfels

Kevin Kolb

Quinn and Kolb will be starting somewhere by 2010. I even drafted Quinn late in a redraft because I think he can possibly take the job this season. I'm not a big believer in Derek Anderson, so I think the short term opportunity in Cleveland is better than most believe.

I respect your opinion, but from what I've seen of Matt Cassel, he's awful. He might not even make the team this year.

I've also heard that Cassel's roster spot is threatened. They went out and took a flyer on Kevin O'Connell in the third round because they wanted a developmental QB behind Brady. That tells you something about Cassel.

Seattle doesnt have much right now in the way of targets, but it seems to me that Seneca Wallace is one of the more underappreciated backups in the league. But for fantasy purposes, my money would go to Kurt Warner. Sage Rosenfels would be a close second. All that guy does is seemingly play well whenever he's called on.

I have a feeling we'll be seeing Trent Green this year in St Louis. And considering his past concussion problems, I dont know just how good of a backup he'll be. But the man can certainly sling it.

Kurt Warner, Trent Green and Brad Johnson would seem to have to head up that list.

I admittedly haven't paid much attention to him in the last couple of years, but is he so bad now that he couldn't show a good account of himself even throwing to TO and Witten?
Yes. He looks awful. He looks his age plus 10 years.

The Top 3 should be:

Warner - still has the physical abilities, very experienced, great weapons

Rosenfels - played well last season. Veteran.

Batch (when healthy) - knows the system very well and has performed when called upon

I've heard that same thing about Cassel's job too. Perhaps I should have just said New England's backup? Maybe it will be O'Connell, maybe they will call up old Vinny again, but whoever it is is going to have the best supporting cast in the league.ETA: They also have the league's easiest schedule so that would only help if Brady goes down.

With Batch out, I think the Steelers covered themselves well with Leftwich.
