Who is the GB running back going forward? (1 Viewer)

It's all speculation but I would expect a lot more knile davis next game. He has 10 days to get ready. Montgomery has done a nice job of giving them something but he isn't really a rb. In a few weeks starks will be back and may end up starting. He has been around longer and has played well in moments.

Davis is a career backup and terrible at pass pro. He might vulture some goal line stuff but I don't think he affects Ty's touches

9ers kind of had this offense for one of the Montana years. I think Craig had retired and ther backup was more of a receiver.  Lots of 3 yard outs to pass as a running game

According to a report I read, Jackson carried 2 times, hurt his hand and the team was worried he would fumble.

Montgomery did well, but you can tell by watching him that he's not a true RB. He doesn't have that quick change of direction and low center of gravity. I'm not saying he won't get it, but long striding WRs can't just change their running style over night. I think Montgomery has promise. The short week was beneficial to those of us that grabbed Ty as it didn't give the team additional time to muddy the waters with who was going to get the touches. But now on the backend, the team has additional time to prep for the next game. This is going to remain a "wait and see" approach I think. I wouldn't rely on Montgomery getting a ton of touches, but the offense did pretty well with Montgomery having a big slice of the pie, so he should still have value in PPR moving forward.

Liked what I saw on the 30 yard run. It was a draw, and supposed to go R - he didn't sprint with long strides toward the hole but picked his way to the line with short steps, recognized it was closing, and quickly darted left and through the hole. Broke an arm tackle and with a burst went through the second level to the third level quickly, lowered his shoulders & popped the DB backwards before a couple other guys took him down.

Virtualky that whole drive (1st offensive TD drive for either team) was Montgomery.

I don't think last night was sustainable, but I think a realistic ceiling is Riddick's situation -- heavily featured passing-down back competing with replacement-level between-the-tackles options for touches. Say, 8-12 touches/game, maybe as high as 15, skewed toward passes over runs.
