Who is your dynasty sleeper? (1 Viewer)

I'm in a dynasty league, and a few years ago, I watched a rookie tight end play and listened to some commentary near the end of the season. I had a available roster spot and thought about stashing him away as a project. Apparently someone else in my league thought the same thing, and outbid me for that player in blind bidding that week. That player was Antonio Gates.

Does anyone have a pet project that they would roster through this whole season to see what next year can bring? Someone that is almost certainly available in every league? For me, that guy might be Troy Smith QB BAL. McNair may be near the end of his career, and Boller has never been the answer. Never mind the extention Boller got, it was only a 1 year. Smith could get a shot, maybe as early as next year.

Anyone else?

Olsen, Greg TE CHI IF he's half of what people say he's gonna be I'm set at TE for a few years.

Also picked up Leonard, Brian RB STL just in case SJ has 4 more weeks like last week and STL decides to try something else. Plus in about 2 years he may just be the guy there.

William Green

- George Jefferson

Michael Turner, Norwood (even more in 2008 as Dunn is phased out), Steve Smith (NYG) (2009), John Beck

Somewhere there is a 20 page M. Turner thread around. He is my guy.
Yes, but since we're really talking about dynasty/keeper leagues here, aren't most of these players likely to be sitting on a roster somewhere? Maybe not Kolb, but i could see Bush/Turner/Olsen/S.Smith etc. all on rosters.I'm talking deeper sleepers here.

People on Rotoworld generally know what they are talking about in regards to this topic. I few years ago everyone was hyping Brandon Jacobs and Matt Schaub and both those guys have paid off. Michael Turner will next year. I like to hear who people think are the next to break out.

I have a few WR prospects I really like.

- Demetirus Williams WR, Bal.

- Maurice Stovall WR, TB.

- Earnest Wilford WR, Jac. (Still a little unsure about him)

IF Martz stays in Detroit (doubtful) AND the Lions don't resign Kitna (doubtful), Drew Stanton could be a top 15 QB next year for next to nothing.

I like the Ted Ginn Jr. and Anthony Gonzales picks. I grabbed both of em in this years draft and will keep them all year and hopefully longer... :lmao:

I was going to say Demetrius Williams as well. He might even be start-worthy by the end of this season; will definitely be Baltimore's #1 guy next year (with Clayton on the other side and Mason in the slot, if he's not gone/retired).

All the players in this thread are all on rosters in our league, even Kolb. For the deep, deep, sleeper, I'm holding Andre Hall, RB, Den.

Atlanta WRs, especially in the near future.

Laurant Robinson...only guy I like as a Dynasty seed. White and Jenkins can be developed.

I like them because the Hue Jackson OC was the highly touted cincy bengals wr coach. He developed Chad Johnson, TJ Housh, Kelly Washington and Chris Henry. Maybe it will rub off on the dirty birds.

Too bad we couldn't see how Vick would have developed under Jackson.

If he's 100% of what people say you've got a borderline TE1 for a few years.I have no strong opinion on Olsen, but he does not have a lot of hype. Hype is Kellen Winslow and Vernon Davis. Olsen's hype is about the same as Ben Troupe, Ben Watson, Daniel Graham, Heath Miller, Jerramy Stevens, etc. as rookies.

Not Selvin Young? or is Young already taken in your league?

Really? Paid off how? Cause they're starting now? They've each played one game as the starter. I'm not suggesting they'll flop or won't pay off, but they haven't proven anything yet. On top of that, neither of these guys were a big mystery, and certainly not deep sleepers. Both were somewhat highly touted backups at the time already. For a few dynasty sleepers I was targeting Demetrius Williams and Brandon Marshall, but the word was out on these guys already. Most of the rookie receivers were snatched up too, especially after the preseason hype on the two Jones' propelled them up dynasty draft boards.

A few I'm keeping an eye on though:

Laurent Robinson is one I like that I think may be available in a lot of dynasty leagues still. I think he'll be the #1 option there by year 3. Just have to wonder who will be throwing him the ball.

How about Chris Perry? He hasn't shown he can stay healthy, but he may be back in the fold by mid-season, and you never know. Coming into the league, he was a better prospect than Kenny Irons was.

Musa Smith is a backup RB that you rarely see rostered that could produce if McGahee was to get hurt.

At TE, Mercedes Lewis could develop well, but he may not be on waivers in a lot of leagues by now.

At QB, I would consider Aaron Rodgers. He may be starting next year, and if their receivers are healthy, he'll have some decent weapons to throw to.

I've got Jason Hill stashed in hopes of production in a couple of years

Patrick Crayton!! And as if I willed it to happen....whammo, Terry Glenn is GONE.

Between Glenn's age and T.O's age and trouble making, I figure Crayton is the #1 guy there probably 2 yrs from now, but very active going forward.

Jerome Harrison- Cleveland

Lewis will be gone next year and I think this guy gets a shot. He bulked up this year so he could handle more carries without wearing down and he can catch out of the backfield. He also ran for 1,900 yards is senior year in college. Cleveland doesn't have a first round pick to draft a stud. Has even more value in a PPR league.

Sam Hurd has a better chance of being the #1 than Crayton. Especially in the next 2 years. Crayton is already 28. I doubt either is #1 potential though.

QBs I like a year or 2 down the roadKellen ClemensDrew Stanton
Clemens was a guy I picked up off waiver last year to stash. The other long shot I have is Mike Williams. It's unlikely he'll pan out but if he could do well next year with Russell at QB.

Musa Smith is free agent next year

Since you are specifically looking for deep sleepers that may not be on rosters I'd say

-Zach Miller: TE, OAK

-Drew Stanton: QB, DET

-Kellen Clemens: QB, NYJ

-Chad Jackson: WR, NE

-Tony Hunt: RB, PHI

Trent Edwards has been impressing in Buffalo
Trent Edwards is a good pick. I'm pretty sure Losman is a free agent after this season. If he has a mediocre year, it's possible that the team will let him walk. It's even possible that Edwards will flat out take the job from him at some point in 2008 or possibly even late 2007 (if the Bills really struggle). At any rate, Edwards might be the best QB in this draft class. I have him on three out of my five dynasty teams. Laurent Robinson is another guy that I like a lot in terms of risk/reward. He has a chance to be a 1,000 yard guy and he won't cost you much. He's ranked very, very low in the FBG dynasty rankings. I have him on four out of my five dynasty teams. Now is the time to buy him because his value will probably rise substantially over the next 1-3 years.I plucked Musa Smith off waivers in one of my leagues yesterday. I look at this way: he was an early pick, he's still young, and he hasn't proven that he sucks. Maybe he can be the next Ladell Betts or Rudi Johnson. It's unlikely, but not out of the question.I still think Kenny Irons was the clear RB3 in this year's draft. He has a chance to make some waves if he can return to 100% health, but don't bank on him succeeding. His injury was really unfortunate because I think he would've raised some serious eyebrows this season if he had been healthy. People laughed at the notion of him taking carries from Rudi. I think it would've happened. Finally, I still believe that Bernard Berrian will be a top 20 WR this season. I expect his dynasty WR ranking to improve by 10-20 spots from now until the end of the season. Buy buy buy.

I like Sidney Rice if the Vikes get their passing game figured out by next year. Not a sleeper, but I believe both DAL RBs are FAs after this year and one of them may get a full time role on another team.

I'm afraid Chad Jackson won't amount to anything before 2009 or 2010, and maybe he will BUST.

all of these guys are rostered in my main dynasty. Quinn Gray is a good sleeper.
