Spinoff thread from the main discussion. As I was putting this list together it astonished me just how many memorable characters this show has produced. I can't think of another show with as large an ensemble as this one. And I ran out of room so if your character is one I didn't list, please tell us.

I would like to know who your favorite character is and why. Mine is Cersei, and I gave a detailed explanation in the other thread.

My top 6-8 bounce around a lot and all have spent time in the top slot at some point in the show.

But I voted Arya. Very, very close second is The Mother of Dragons and not just for her physical beauty but also for her physical beauty.

Hottest Missandre. Pretty hard not to vote Tyrion. Bron is pretty great.

Littlefinger, Varys, Cersei, and Tywin are also standout characters for me for various reasons, not most likable but great, interesting characters.

They get a ton of air time but the Jon Snow guy is a pretty bad actor which hurts him I think. Dany the character has been so off for a while now. Not buying her as the leader of all these people and armies, and the lack of nudity isn't helping either.

Tywin Lannister. Every scene he was in was must watch. He unapologetically used his power but followed his own code. Charismatic leader, schemed as well as littlefinger, out fought stannis, solved the kingdom's money problems, reigned in joffrey, cersei and tyrion, was arguably the most feared and respected man on the show, and died the way you didn't even realize you'd hoped he would. Perfect character.
