Who is your favorite player in the NFL? (1 Viewer)

Brett Favre because you never no what's going to happen, and he does not give a #### about what people think.

Nick Reed...11 picks away from not being drafted, From Oregon, to small, to slow blah blah blah. Plays with energy, a chip on his shoulder and has a motor. No matter how good he gets, he will never forget where he came from.

hard to say, so my short list:

Mario Williams

Tony Gonzalez

Antwaan Randle El

Tom Brady

Peyton Manning

LT

TP

Well aside from the obvious (Favre, I know I'll get hammered for saying that, but he is still the man to me. Don't care what team he's on.)

Otherwise I love to watch:

Jason Witten

Guy I miss watching the most recently is Al Wilson. Wish he still played the game. Unfortunate.

he's got long hair, he's an absolute animal, has 3 big penalties and possibly every tackle for pittsburgh tonight, dude is just entertaining to watch, and i dont like pittsburgh that much

I'm a little surprised at all the love for Randy Moss. Sure, he's an incredible athlete, but after what he pulled in Oakland, how can he be anybody's favorite??? (Unless you're a Patriots fan I guess.) To me, this one of the bad guys in the NFL.
On the field he's a joy to watch. The only other WR I've ever seen who makes everything look so effortless is Bambi in the old school clips floating around.

i also miss me some older eagles offensive lines guys, dirty as hell, runyan and honeybun hank fraley would play past the whistle everydown

Hines Ward.

I'm not a Steelers fan and I'm Georgia Tech fan so I root against his alma mater Georgia as well.

Moss isn't even half as bad has people try to make him out to be. That's part of the fun in having him as one of your favorite players. I get a great deal of amusement out of how ridiculous some people can be when talking about him.
More than any other player watching Moss play can be a thing of sublime beauty. He regularly accomplishes the extraordinary but he is such a talent that he makes it seem effortless.Randy Moss = Poetry in motion (and CHEAT CODE)

Boldin and its not even close . Q is a beast

Patrick willis a distant second.

Marion Barber III - A beast, takes everything out on the field with him/Ray Rice - Fan since Rutgers, mini beast

Calvin Johnson - GTech/James Jones - Lets hope he stops getting injured.

Mario Williams/DeMaco Ryans/Jerod Mayo

Ward, Polamalu, Witten, SJax, Barber, Garrard, Finnegan, Rodgers, Gore, TJHoush, LFitz, AJ, Ware, I could go on and on...

Couple retired guys: Eddie George, Curtis Martin

So we'll mix it up and see who everyone's favorite player is that is not on the team they root for.
If we can define "favorite player" as "player we enjoy watching the most," then the clear answer for me is Hakeem Nicks. So dominant and beastly when healthy. I'm targeting him as a priority in all of my redraft leagues this year.

A. Rodgers is mine! I'm surprised not many said him, but I just glanced as I went thru.

T. Brady

P. Manning

Troy P.

S. Jax

R. Rice

I'm really startin to like Mike Williams TB as well.

But at the end of the day....GO BREES and COLSTON!

Philip Rivers. Great competitor, seems like a good teammate, plays hurt, and seems to genuinely want to win. That sounds like a given, but I think a lot of players are more worried about their contract and blaming someone else when things go bad than winning football games.

He was fine letting LT have the glory, and then he picked up the slack when he had to carry the offense. Missing receiving weapons he still got the job done. I think he's criticized too much for being a bit of a jerk on the field sometimes. Maybe he's not always a "class act" but he seems like the kind of guy a fan and teammate would want on their side. And as he's gotten older I don't see him acting up like he used to.

I'll also say that while Aaron Rodgers isn't a favorite of mine, I was happy to see him prove the detractors wrong, step up and finally silence the critics. Remember that scene during the Super Bowl when Steve Young asked to take the "monkey" off his back? Rodgers had an entire tribe of them and got the job done.

My three favorite players are Steven Jackson, Larry Fitzgerald and James Farrior; since Farrior is a Steeler and Fitz. is a Pitt Panther my answer is Steven Jackson.

Really good post. I thought about listing Rivers, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.You understand. ;)

Agree that he's definitely the kind of guy you want on YOUR team.

Personally I'm rooting for Danny Woodhead. He's a hard working kid that really fits well into whatever they do in NE. I love watching Andre Johnson and Mike Wallace, Wallace for his breakneck speed and Johnson for everything else.

I think I'd have to say rivers as well. Hes cocky as hell on the field, but seems like a great guy off the field. Great qb that knows how to make lemonade out of lemons.

A side not on why someone might.not like ward. I love in the DC area and there are a ton of steeler fans. They are so annoying! Now, to be fair, they are annoying because there are a lot of them and because I'm totally jealous that they are so good. But I'm not the only one around that feels this way! You steeler fans need to learn what defeat is like the rest of us! (and with all these feelings, I still like hines ward...ugh!)

I love the Cowboys and the Lions, so the two players that I like outside of those teams are:

Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Those are the two guys I'd pay money to see play.

Andre Johnson- Does his job very well, very gifted, very low diva factor

TO- His antics are more the "I don't care what you think" rather than the "Hey look at me" variety that we see from a lot of the diva WR's. He is content with amusing himself. I find it entertaining. He comes off as a dummy, but has actually positioned himself very well over the years financially, built a career for himself for after football in television, and he has given us some GREAT game play and good convo over the years.

Rivers- Quality guy, with great ability. Good role model, great player.

Ray Lewis- Love his intensity

Hines Ward- Great player everywhere on the field. Tough and "Real football"

Fitz- Great player, class act, and I think he means more to the players and the organization behind the scenes then the general public knows. He'll help any player, from any team train. And his summer camp is one of the best in football.

Tomlinson- One of the best. I'm fortunate to have been watching. A great player, with a great attitude.

Frank Gore- Love his quiet demeanor next to his great ability and skill set.

Hakeem Nicks- This guy is a beast! He will dominate the top 5 WR's for the next several years

Drew Brees- Classy, intelligent, gifted player

Gates- Another tremendous talent, top 3-5 all time, with little character flaw.

Guys I don't like:

Peyton Manning- is a complete tool, great on the football feild, but has a quiet arrogance about him that I don't like.

Randy Moss- He has acted at times like he was bigger than the game. Early in his career I watched him intentionally step on another players back as that player was face down on the ground, to step over him as if he were a pile of trash. Haven't liked him since.

Ocho Cinco- The tired "look at me" campaign through his career was actually sad rather than entertaining

Haynesworth- Anyone who steel cleat stomps another players un-helmeted head while he's on the ground is an unbelievable doosh bag..

DeSean Jackson- Diva.. Arrogance.. I hate his nonsense on the goal line... Have some class..

This post started in 2009 and went 2 years without a post? It went from 11 September 2009 to 02:26 PM yesterday. That's weird. However, my favorite non-Bronco is Peyton Hillis. Big Arkansas fan and he was just a workhorse in front of D. McFadden and F. Jones. Now he is a legitimate starter in the NFL and plays like he never wants to go back to the bench. He can do it all. Of course, I do enjoy watching DMac and Jones breaking into the second layer and turning on the jets and flying by folks. :excited:
