Who thinks they could turn the Buffalo Bills around? (1 Viewer)

Seriously, they haven't had a WINNING season since 2003. And no playoff births since 1999.

What would it take to turn this team around? The culture seems shot.

They need to bring in a new defensive scheme there or do a complete personnel. Every year, you here about how poor the Bills run defense is.

They need to do what they've got going on in Chicago and Pittsburgh. Tough, smash mouth, football.

The Bills would be fools not to attempt to bring a defensive minded Head Coach into town. Maybe snag Ray Horton from the Cardinals?

If I ever win the Mega Millions, I will try to buy the team. It all starts with ownership and the Bills will never win anything until they get new ownership committed to actually bringing in people capable of building a winning organization.

Not sure they need to go that far. Their offense isn't an issue, aside from Fitzpatrick's contract. Personnel on the defensive side of the ball could use a makeover, from DC down, but bringing in a defensive minded head coach could just make them ugly on both sides of the ball.

What I don't understand about the Bills is that they have a bunch of speed players for a team that plays in the terrible conditions half the year. Mario Williams and Spiller would both be great in a dome. But unless the Bills start playing all their late-season games in Toronto, they're going to be slogging through snow at the end of the year. Same with the QB. They play outside in the wind, so why do they have a QB with a weak arm--wouldn't you want a guy who can rifle the ball whatever the conditions?

The answer was already stated. There will be no winning until there is a new owner.

Chan and Nix might get another year because they are likeable but look like they should go. Even if they dont, Ralph or whoever is pulling the strings will not bring in the right people to make a difference.

Yes, of course it could be done.

52 completed seasons, 18 of them winning seasons - 11 in the Flutie, Bledsoe & Kelly era, 3 in the Kemp era, 4 in the Ferguson era. But you could also break it down as: Thomas (8) and Simpson/Cribbs (4).

I just don't understand why this franchise has not always been about building tough defenses and running the ball.

I know, the best success they ever had (besides the 60s) was with Jim Kelly and that awesome offense, but their defense was great then too and so was their running game. It just seems with the end of season weather, playing outdoors, the incredible home field advantage they could have in January, they should be pursuing defense and running backs all the way. That's the way I would say they should go - the mindset should be that of the 60s-70s Vikes (very similar home playoff record, something like 9-1 at home last 10 or something like that; the Vikes gave that up, the Bills did not).

And oh yeah - get the right coach and an awesome QB. Easy, right?

Also the movie "Buffalo 66" is recommended viewing for anyone so inclined to learn about the Bills (and their fans).

I thought about that when I wrote it. Jackson and Spiller, obviously yes, that's there. But while the defense may have been an attempt, it was an attempt that failed.

Also, when I said "always" obviously there has been many year when they did not make that their model.
