I am going through another re-watch of this, and am realizing that it's a pretty close call between Ruth, Claire and David as far as which character is my favorite. 

I will probably say Claire, as I thought her character got more and more interesting over time, and many of my favorite scenes are with her from Season 3 once she started going to art school.

Brenda, that bat-#### insane, hot, twisted assembly of madness.

David was a great character and Michael Hall was as brilliant as acting gets playing him.

Great show, great question.  Went with Nate, one of my favorite characters of all time.  

Also, Brenda's brother was awesome.  

 

[Jefferson the Caregiver]

Feel like this should be a run away with Nate but Brenda and brother were definitely interesting

Ruth, Keith and Claire were not

I can't remember but wasn't Brendas mom funny?, the actress from blade runner

Also, Brenda's brother was awesome.  

Whenever I'm with people that dont shut the F up I think of her brother, who was yapping all while his sister passes away in their old age.

Also, Brenda's brother, Billy, was by far the most annoying character on the show.  Every time he was in a scene, I couldn't wait for it to end.

The mother was perfect. Billy was out of hand. Both really well done lunatics, imo.

Yep, the mom was great, played brilliantly by Joanna Cassidy, who has amazing on screen charisma.

Her laugh killed me. Especially, as it usually served to punctuate something really ####ed up going on.

Such was life in that family.  As messed up as the Fishers could be, they looked pretty normal next to the Chenowiths.
