Grossman will be the guy in 08. Da Bears have an option for the 08 season at his current salary, IIRC. If Grossman plays well the club will offer him a LTC. On the other hand, if Rexy gets silly with the football, Orton takes over, perhaps indefinately. At 1.4 mil/yr. Griese makes a cost effective choice as the 3rd QB.

McNabb is not leaving the Eagles. They will not do a total rebuild, and McNabb gives them the best chance to win now.

Nor do I think the Browns will let Anderson go.

I do think they go the veteran route and get Pennington, though.

Orton has shown that when the Defense plays well (and they have played extremely well the last two weeks) he can win games, nothing else.

Grossman will be the guy as much as it pains me to say it. I would much rather it be a free agent.

I don't think the next "starter" is on the roster now but couldn't begin to guess how it will play out.

The Bears are kind of backed into a corner based on other needs. I think we see Grossman and Benson starting again next year, but Lovie will let Orton compete for the job in camp.

Unless a team really covets Grossman and offers him something fairly big I believe the Bears will resign him to a heavily incentive laden contract as he showed up pretty well after his benching. I think everything points to him being on the verge of "Getting It" and the Bears would hate for him to really catch on with another team when there really aren't any other realistic options out there to replace him that are any better. They wont give up enough to get Anderson.....McNabb aint going anywhere....Pennington blows with no arm.I think the team is too good for them to draft a 1st round QB and wait for him to develope unless their highest rated falls to 14th pick which is doubtful but I do think they draft a QB the 1st day to sit behind whoever ends up starting.

:hifive: Exactly right. They need to fix the o-line, secondary and figure out what to do at wr before they make a huge move at qb

Orton simply isn't blessed with the physical tools to be an NFL starting QB. It was no more apparent than his INT yesterday intended for Berrian (where the ball seemed like it took days to get to Berrian).

They'll look to FA. If nothing found there, Grossman by default. (Orton will compete, but Grossman is the better quarterback).

Orton can't win you games like Grossman can, but he won't lose you games as often as Grossman either. Kind of pick your poison.

I see Benson & Grossman. Too many other needs on this team to fill. Going to be a hell of an offseason full of decisions all across the team.
