Seeing as 3 of the last 5 no-hitters are from former Sox prospects (with the two most recent pitching for the Sox), it seems logical to try and look forward to predict who will be next. Your candidates:

Buchholz: Buchholz pitched a no-hitter last year in his 2nd start. One of the top pitchers, his future looks pretty strong

Lester: The most recent no-hitter, he has the well-known story of being a top prospect that was diagnosed with cancer, battled his way back to pitch the winning World Series game and most recently a no-no.

Beckett: Cy Young runner up last year, the Ace of the staff. Has never had a close call with a no-hitter, but pounds the strike zone and has the stuff to do it

Matsuzaka: Has tossed a no-hitter back in Japan in the championship and currently is an early candidate for the Cy this year (8-0, 2.40 ERA). He needs to cut down on the walks, but with a very high K/9 rate he might be the one to watch

Schilling: The man that needs no introduction, likely hall of famer last year took a no-hitter down to the last batter, before surrendering a single and settling for a one-hitter. He is currently injured and running out of time, but don't count him out

Wakefield: He has taken a no-hitter into the 8th, and has gone 22 innings without a run before. When the knuckler is dancing he is unhittable

Colon: 3 years removed from his Cy Young season, Colon showed last night he still has what it takes to dominate at this level. Whether he can resurrect his Cy Young magic remains to be seen, but it is certainly a possibility

Masterson/Bowden/Future Prospect: Masterson is currently 1-0 with a 1.46 ERA in his two starts. Still a little raw, but he will be a starting pitcher with someone next year. Bowden is 21 and is ranked in Baseball America's Top 100 prospects. He has top-of-the-rotation ceiling, but is still unpolished.

I'll guess that it will be someone who hasn't been conceived yet.

But, if I had to take someone from that list, I'd take Beckett.
