I chose Grant but Young could easily be the guy if Fertile Myrtle will go ahead and get suspended. Chatman has been a solid producer as well. Grant seems to have the luxury of a top passing game to open things up for him and bad weather to boot.

Nothing says GEM like someone who will help win you championships. With games vs. OAK, @STL and @CHI, I'm guessing Grant will be save many injury-riddled teams during the fantasy playoffs. Gets my vote.

I say Grant becasue he is the only guy on that list that I picked up. Plus I never heard of that Player you listed called Other. Is he any good?

I went with Graham. He's been a big surprise with his receiving skills in PPR. He looks to be very effective in that system.

i voted grant b/c he runs so hard and the packers love him and want him to be the bell cow.

young could be great, but i don't know how many leagues he really hit the WW in, we don't know about henry, and i don't trust shanny.

as far as chatman or r. williams go, i simply will not trust a RB from a putrid winless team that's about to throw a rookie in.

i like graham, but i'm sure pittman will be a factor.

all the factors point to grant (which i'm hoping for, i blew pretty much all of my free-agent budget on him 2 weeks before i lost LJ)

I just dropped Young for Grant (shocked he was available, but we do only start 1 RB with a flex - and WRs score about the same as RBs, in a 10 team league)

S.Young

R.Grant

J.Chatman

E.Graham

C. Taylor

 Those are my RBs in my only yahoo-run league.

I'll vote Chatman thus far - with Grant a solid chance to overtake him by the end of year.

Chester Taylor
Chester Taylor was the starting RB for the Vikings for several games. I don't get how he would be a waiver wire pickup.
Taylor was available in many leagues at the time of Peterson's injury. Unless Peterson makes a miraculous recovery, Taylor could easily be the correct answer to this poll question.
Miraculous? He's going to be back in 2-3 weeks... I guess I don't really see Taylor as a waiver wire pickup as the only people who would drop him would be in small leagues (8 teams or fewer). Even in leagues like that, I'm sure many people held onto him. In my opinion he should be excluded since he was the projected starter for this year and was drafted in nearly every league. Selvin Young fits this better as he wasn't even the backup until a few weeks before the start of the season. I believe Earnest Graham to be the best option on the list as he was the 3rd string RB who ended up in the starting role rather early in the season and has performed very well. He will most likely hold onto the starting position until the end of the season. That is a gem....not a RB who was supposed to be the starter and is now a spot starter in case of injury.

You and Brad Childress are both hoping for the best-case scenario for Peterson apparently, but when/if he returns from his torn LCL remains to be seen. Because the Vikings want to sell tickets the rest of the season it is in their best interests to promise that Peterson will return, but there are certainly no guarantees about anything. Regardless Taylor is a solid play for the foreseeable future. I like Graham but now that Pittman is back and Bennett is on board it is hard to see him being a fantasy dynamo. Grant would be my second choice behind Taylor. I'd rank Grant #1 if he didn't have a couple of really ugly turnovers already.

As a Peterson owner who picked up Taylor last week, I disagree. I'd rather have CT than Graham. If I didn't have Peterson, and needed a RB to start throughout the playoffs, I would agree.

always nice to have a couple guys on a list like this :hifive:
Since most waiver wires go worst to first, I'm thinking not many will agree with this sentiment! :goodposting:
And what happens if you secured these players through an open ww system or via trade? Would that still indicate what you intimate? :boxing:
Many of these players get snagged by the sharks™ well before they bust out. Graham, Young, Grant were all taken on the early side of things in many leagues.

I think it will end up being:

Jesse Chatman

He's been performing good in Ronnie Brown's stead, and Miami's going to make frequent use of him enough to get his fantasy stats up.

I think Graham's performance will decrease with time, due to both wear+tear and Pittman's return.

I think Grant won't hold onto the sole-RB job all year, and a healthy Jackson and Morency will steal touches from him in full blown RBBC. I already know you disagree with this and have man-love for Grant. We'll see in another 4-6 weeks.

I think Selvin Young is going to perform well, but not as well as Chatman.

Drafted Selvin as a handcuff for Henry. Picked up Grant when he was trade from the Giants. I may not be a shark, but I am not an idiot.

Shark moves > shark status.

Kenny Watson looked great filling in for Rudi. Pretty surprised people have forgotten about him.

Lots of RB's in my league that came off the WW that have some potential.

Fargas, Watson, Dayne, M. Morris in addition to those listed in the poll. K. Keith, S. Morris, D. Ward helped out for a couple weeks.

Top waiver-wire RBs in my league (total points scored):

1. Kenny Watson (#18 overall)

2. Earnest Graham (#21)

3. Justin Fargas (#27)

4. Derrick Ward (#28)

5. Kenton Keith (#33)

6. Selvin Young (#37)

7. Ryan Grant (#38)

8. Ron Dayne (#40)

9. Jesse Chatman (#41)

10. DeShawn Wynn (#44)

edit: I didn't count Sammy Morris or Maurice Morris because both were drafted, but Sammy would have been 5th and Maurice would have been 12th.

Grant has had two peewee football turnovers along with his good play. That isn't a problem yet, but with Jackson and Morency healthy behind him another key turnover or two could cost him his position. It isn't like this guy is a 7-year Pro Bowler.
