So the question came up at work today about whether or not you would win in a fight to the death versus a single large (we're talking 140ish lbs) Grey Wolf.  I'm under the opinion that I would be a huge favorite (95%ish??) against the wolf.  I'm 5'-11", 200lbs (but I'm a FBG so 12lbs of that is obviously pecker) but the guys that work for me don't believe it.

So the question is, do you think if it was you versus a wolf on flat ground with no weapons, you versus a wolf, would you win?

50/50 shot.

Just show the guys your pecker if they don't believe you.

You are going to have to choke it to death or break limbs, you are not going to punch it to death easily.

lol, the wolf would literally eat your lunch.  And by your I mean you for.

I'm in my mid-40's now.  Without any sort of weapons or tools I'm toast.  How do you plan on fighting off said wolf?  This reeks of Matuski fighting a professional superbantam weight boxer or whatever weight class that was.

6 foot around 210-220

I think I could take the wolf but would die if blood loss pretty fast if I didn't get medical attention right away.

Best case scenario I dodge the first attack and take the wolf out with a rear naked choke and come away with only a few scratches.

worst case besides death I have to split the wolfs jaws like King Kong to take him down with grave injury

No weapons?

What are you wearing?

Does the wolf know it needs to fight to the death initially....or is it just acting on an instinct that will turn into it knowing that it needs to fight to the death?

Without weapons, I think the wolf will make the human bleed first.....that's no good for the human.

I've wrestled with my 200lb dog and while that's obviously not the same, I feel like I could control the head long enough for me to gouge out eyes... once that's done it's over (although I'd expect to get bloodied up doing it).

Test this and report back

I have to imagine though that your dog isn't (literally and figuratively) going for the jugular right out of the gate...you're getting a certain benefit of the doubt.

3 way dance of death

you

140 pound wolf

Manny

who comes away with the intercontinental title?

I wear a wolf shirt daily. He would cower under it's greatness as he would recognize his maker in that shirt.

LOL at people comparing this to wrestling with your dog.  Dogs have been domesticated and are soft.  Plus you're the alpha in the pack no way they come at you like a wolf would.

Could always pop the collar and spike your hair beforehand so the wolf knows you are an alpha

whoever gets throat first wins, simple as that. easy to get throat on any single canine
A single canine yes?  A wild wolf? I'm not so sure.  Should've known the FFA had so many bad asses.  Most of us soft city boys would piss ourselves if face to face with a snarling 140 pound wolf.

Naked - No chance.
Armor - I would hurl myself at it like Sonic the Hedgehog and hope for the best.

You're dreaming

I think I could win if the wolf did not get my neck...but not come out unscathed.  Have to land some hard kicks to the ribs and stomach area first. A headlock/choke around the neck would eventually choke out the wolf as long as you could take it gnawing on your arm in the process.

Also what are we wearing?  If we can wear a full set of hydes and furs that offer protection the our odds go up drastically.  If we're on a walk wearing shorts, t shirt and flip flops and this battle occurs we're in big trouble.

  If it's an actual fight to the death,(where the Wolf is determined to attack you first as well) I don't see a human without weapons winning. One bite to an arm would damage it severely and make it useless. Then you're one handed against a 140 pound wolf? No way.

Can he switch back into human form like Jacob?

Is the wolfirst domesticed or was he pulled straight from the wild?

Is he gay?

A freaking toy poodle attacking a grown man would startle the #### out of him and he would take damage.  The unrestrained malice an attacking animal can bring to bear is like nothing most of us have experienced.  A large wolf would make quick work of us.

Yeah I think your only shot is to have the wolf lock on to one of your arms and while he's doing that get on his back and go for the choke.  Not sure many of us here are tough enough to pull off such a manuever while our arm is being shredded.

Foster’s right — his thumbs give him a clear advantage in this scenario. He can choke out or restrain the wolf, who he outweighs, while the wolf really only has one weapon, his mouth. Once he bites, as long as it’s a body part that isn’t life threatening, Foster has the upper hand.
Wouldn't his claws be a weapon as well?
