marion barber, frank gore, larry johnson, willis mcgahee. who do you think will have the better season? i keep having to make a similar decision when it comes to the end of the first round of mock drafts. it normally comes down to one of these 4 and my teams normally look pretty well when i pick lower, but still some input on who will do better this year will help with making a better team. thanks.

PPR

Gore

McGahee

MBIII

standard

MBIII

Gore

McGahee

keep in mind McGahee might be available in the mid-2nd, whereas neither Gore nor MBIII will make it even to the end of the 1st.

I didn't address LJ because I think he's through.

I'm top 7 RB high on McGahee this year, but realize I can get him late first early 2nd. I'm trading back if I can, but really won't hesitate to pull the trigger early after C. Portis.

MCGahee was the picture of consistency last year and is at least likely to see more targets this year, making him a late-first value available in the late-second. Considering how hard it is to get value with a RB that's not coming off injury, I think he might be the best value this year.

His ADP is #14 overall, I don't see how some leagues he is going in the late 2nd.

Some people think Rice will take more carries, and McGahee is no longer a "sexy" pick.I've seen him go top 10, if his ADP is 14 it logically follows that he falls to the mid 2nd in some, I wouldn't be shocked if he fell further - but I wouldn't count on it.I'd take Gore (and probably will).

I'd go:

Barber

Gore

LJ

McGahee

Personally Barber is really the only one of these guys I'd be excited about having. I don't think any of the other guys are 1st rounders.

This might shock you, but not all, in fact very few, drafts go the way you expect them to.

Are there good 6 or 8 team leagues available?I don't mind how you rate Gore, but there is no 10+ team league where he doesn't go in the first round

Until the Cowboys show me that Barber isn't still part timing it, and drafting Jones in round one didn't do much to alleviate those fears for me, I'd have to go Gore.

Standard: Gore, MB3, LJ, McGahee

PPR: Gore, MB3, McGahee, LJ

Gore easily best in PPR (Martz factor). Even with part-time, MB3 should be next, though McGahee is close in PPR (Cam factor). LJ/McGahee close in standard.

Gore and MB3 are going pretty consistently in the mid-first (6-9) in every redraft I've seen. LJ usually late first, McGahee anywhere late-first to mid-second. If you are picking within a few picks of the turn (12-team leagues), getting two of these guys is usually possible if Willis drops some.

Martz scares the hell outta me for Gore. What Gore gains in receptions, he can easily more than make up for with lost rushing opportunities. <--- Read that very carefully.Martz is a stubborn idiot savant.
