Who's done their rookie drafts? (1 Viewer)

I stand by what I said- When every draft but one has Leftwich going before Palmer (and the one where Leftwich went #1 overall is a start 2 QB league-which refelects why he went unusually high -your chart makes no mention of this) this is definitely a follow the herd mentality. You would think given the fact that Cinncinati has an equal running game, better receivers and an equal or better O-line- combined with the fact that Palmer was the consensus number 1 pick- there would at least be a 75%-25% split.McGahee going as the the #2 back or better in almost every draft shows herd thinking.
As someone who drafted both Leftwich (1.8) and Palmer (1.12) my primary reason for Leftwich first was that Pamer is on the Bengals. To discount the the terrible organization the Bengals are is is to simply ignore data that is available to everyone. That is not following the herd.I also took McGahee (1.2) and he was clearly the most talented RB in the class. There was no herd to follow, simply watching him play was enough.

10 team dynasty draft. Free agents and rookies. I think some players went way too early. This helped me a lot because we don't do a strict rookie draft. We do all of the FA's and rookies together. I was looking to move up in the draft to get Musa to back up Jamal Lewis, since I don't pick until 16 overall, but I think I will stand pat....

Okay, I've got the DT Leagues updated. Don't have any new IDP leagues, so nothing has changed there. Here are the average, minimum and maximum positions of each player based on the 16 DT style leagues presently in the database. If we do this next year, I've figured out a couple things I would have done differently so that the averages are a little more precise. Still good data though.Name, position, team, ADP, First ppearance, Highest AppearanceCharles Rogers, wr, Detroit, 1.3, 1, 3Andre Johnson, wr, Houston, 3.3, 2, 6Larry Johnson, rb, Kansas City ,3.4, 2, 6Willis McGahee, rb, Buffalo, 4.3, 2, 11Byron Leftwich, qb, Jacksonville, 5.3, 1, 11Justin Fargas, rb, Oakland, 7.6, 1, 14Carson Palmer, qb, Cincinnati, 9.0, 3, 24Chris Brown, rb, Tennessee, 10.9, 6, 18Kyle Boller, qb, Baltimore, 11.3, 7, 16Bryant Johnson, wr, Arizona, 12.1, 5, 21Onterrio Smith, rb, Minnesota, 12.9, 5, 24Musa Smith, rb, Baltimore, 12.9, 6, 22Artose Pinner, rb, Detroit, 13.3, 7, 25Kelley Washington, wr, Cincinnati, 15.0, 6, 22Taylor Jacobs, wr, Washington, 15.0, 9, 20Rex Grossman, qb, Chicago, 16.4, 7, 34Tyrone Calico, wr, Tennessee, 16.6, 8, 25Lee Suggs, rb, Cleveland, 16.6, 7, 28LaBrandon Toefield, rb, Jacksonville, 18.2, 12, 22Dallas Clark, te, Indianapolis, 19.8, 3, 39Chris Simms, qb, Tampa Bay, 20.6, 10, 36Jason Witten, te, Dallas, 21.9, 13, 29Anquan Boldin, wr, Arizona, 23.1, 13, 31Teyo Johnson, te, Oakland, 25.2, 6, 62Quentin Griffin, rb, Denver, 25.9, 16, 38Domanick Davis, rb, Houston, 26.4, 7, 38Brandon Lloyd, wr, San Francisco, 26.9, 23, 32Ben Joppru, te, Houston, 27.4, 12, 37Bethel Johnson, wr, New England, 27.8, 20, 36Nate Burleson, wr, Minnesota, 28.4, 22, 35Seneca Wallace, qb, Seattle, 29.5, 11, 36L.J. and rfw, if you're still around pimping for your boy Palmer, there is actually a draft in here where he was the 4th - that's right, 4th!! QB taken. There's following the herd.

But then Weasels are solitary animals after all. Moo.

This is going to be a little different than the other drafts you have seen. This is a new league, 12 teamer contract league, that started with the rookie draft before the initial vet. draft. There is only 16 roster spots (35 max years per season to use), so if you are going to keep a rookie to a contract, they better be good.

While that IS funny, and the Leftwich pick was a reach any way you slice it, in his defense, Charles Rogers was virtually a consensus #1 pick in rookie drafts that year... bad year to have the #1 :yucky:

No it wasnt, it was a bad year to have the #1 and be foolish enough to take a WR with it.
