Who's in for a better year? Benson vs McGahee (1 Viewer)

How about just the simple fact hes a big guy thats taken a pounding for years and visibly is no longer the same player he once was? The injurys are just 1 sign of age catching up to him. I'm not saying hes done, after were talking about 1st round RB's. I'm just saying hes a guy that will slowly fall out of the top 10 over the next couple years.

McGahee's ADP is 12.

Who on this list do you see him jumping over?

LT

Jackson

LJ

Gore

Alexander

Addai

Westbrook

Parker

Rudi

Bush

Maroney

Henry

McGahee
It wouldn't shock me at all if he jumped over Alexander, Rudi, Maroney and Bush. It all depends on the td's...
serious question - how in the world can you logically project McGahee jumping over Alexander? just curious to your reasoning - maybe I am missing something that I should be aware of.
- Seattle's line on a serious decline - What do you mean by decline? age, performance, etc.. I'd disagree with you. I'm sure you are pointing to last season as proof of this - did you realize EVERY lineman for SEA missed time last year except for Walter Jones? and not just a game here or there but chunks of games 3 here 5 here...- Mack Strong on a considerable decline -his blocking skills have declined that much in a year?

- Broken foot - truly healed and 100%? - Holmgren says Alexander looks faster and lighter in camp - faster than he has ever seen him. He ran for 140 against the chargers after returning and ran almost at will against the Bears in the playoffs. Here we are 6 months later - what makes you think that it is not healed? - link?

- Only 2 100 yard games last year - yeah - um - injury?

- 3.6 ypc last year - as noted above the Seahawks O-line was wrecked by injuries last year. -

Turns 30 in august - can't argue with you there - he will be 30 but I think this is one of the biggest FF myths out there. I think you can start looking for a decline in numbers but you don't drop a perennial top 5 TD machine out of the top 5 just becasue he turns 30.

lots of road signs say that alexander is on the fast train downward.

I'll take CHI RB Adrian Peterson over Benson.Benson will not make it through week 3 without some nagging or minor injury
Link? or did you pull that out of a fortune cookie?
No it's just the way I feel and history has shown him to be beatch when it comes to pain.
Haha....he won't make it past week 3? You feel like making any bets?
Not really cause I couldn't care less about it or him. This is still a forum for opinions right??? :D
Thats really standing behind your prediction. That is why I don't make a prediction unless I believe it will happen. It is a forum of opinions, but if you make countless predictions....they aren't worth as much. But if you only make a few and stand behind them....then they count.Kind of like I stand behind Benson being amazing this year and Kevin Jones not being good/may not even start. I discuss it in numerous threads.

you are kidding right - visibly he is no longer the same player? Same as what - 1800 yds / 27 TDs? and you are basing that on what? his games in the same season that he returned from a broken foot? And by big do you mean 5-11' - becasue that is pretty standard size for elite NFL RBs... oh yeah but MJD is too small right? at 5-8" - so I see there is a small window of 5-9" - 5-10"...

this is what happens when you read to many FF message boards... His own coach says that he is lighter and faster than he has ever been... I guess you know more though, huh?

No big meaning weight not height , I would have said tall or short. Hes 230 lbs, and his style of play isnt about avoiding contact, he been a workhorse for a good amount of time, surely a homer like yourself doesn't think hes still in his prime? My brother attended Alabama during SA's years.. I know hes a stud, he was a one man army against the Canes in the bowl game, truth be told that was a long time ago and hes had a great career, things are winding down for him. Time to come to terms. Now about Benson vs McGahee.......

I'm not saying he is still in his prime - but message board accounts of his demise are greatly exagerrated. And your description of his style of play is not accurate either - he's not shifty, but he is not a straight ahead, dish out contact runner by any means - in fact I WOULD say he avoids contact. In any case we'll see about how far he will fall.As for McGahee and Benson - I'm holding onto Benson in my league and not terribly excited about it - given the choice I think I'd rather have McGahee...

guys, i'm at as much fault as anyone, but let's get this thread unhijacked. back to mcgahee vs. benson.
