Who's more talented: Ochocino or T.O.? (1 Viewer)

Statistically, yes, but Bruce and Holt were part of the Greatest Show on Turf, Bruce has one of the greatest catches in Super Bowl history to his credit, and both have rings (and both were big parts of the team getting those rings). Chad has been in two playoff games ever and has six catches for 87 yards in those two games combined.

In other words, playoff performances, rings, and other intangibles give Bruce and Holt major advantages over Chad.

COC is also tracking to be a HOFer in his own right (provided he keeps playing and doesn't fall off the face of the earth). Through age 31, COC ranks 8th in receptions, 10th in receiving yards, and 25th in TD (but the difference between 25th and 15th is a handful of TD).
Eh, I don't see it. He isn't getting in before guys like Cris Carter (who is having a tough time getting in), Tim Brown, Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt or Hines Ward, and I don't see all of those guys getting in, so Chad is not gonna be near the front of the line of guys waiting to get in.The problem with Chad is, even during his best years, he will have like four or five huge games, and then lay a donut in most of the other ones. He has almost never been a guy who you get consistent production from on a week-to-week basis.
I love me some Ocho and I do think there was a time when he was tracking along a HOF-type pace. That period did not last long enough unfortunately.-QG

Before they were on the same team, the argument would be a stretch but not unreasonable. Seeing them both on the same team there is just no comparison. Chad gets doubled a lot, it is true, but I don't think that they are sleeping on covering him. He's tougher and better. Can't compare and I love me some Ocho.-QG
I agree with you in that seeing them on the same team really brings out the differences...of course, neither is in their prime, but my guess (and more a statement than anything else), is that 85 will be sitting next to Keyshawn in a booth somewhere by the time he hits 36. TO just got to the #1 WR spot in my league. He really defies logic and remains motivated in a hopeless (as far as playoffs go) situation. I realize that Ocho did a lot of great things until he hit 30, but honestly, had it not been for the excellent marketing of the "Ocho" brand, he would be considered Torry Holt-lite. Excellent company to be in, but the chasm between Holt and Ocho is roughly the same as that of Holt and Owens...making the debate futile.
