Who's the #1 pick in dynasty drafts? (1 Viewer)

I gave up 1.2 and 3.06 for 1.01 and 4.16
Stupid trade on the guy's part with 1.013.06 and 4.16, while 25 or so spots away, are still pretty much no difference whatsoever. Anyone picked usually after 15 or 20 is pretty much junk anyway. He should have held out and made you actually give up something, perhaps a 1.01 + player for 1.02 + lesser player.Edit: Also, he should have looked into trading down to 3 to someone that wanted LJ or Willis, but again, if he agreed to that trade he wasn't thinking in the first place~

Or he could just as easily have the #1 selection again. As many times as I see this strategy, I will never understand it. Draft to win NOW, and keep an eye on the future. If you are always drafting for next year, you will find that next year is always a year away.
I agree.I haven't had a 1st round pick in my dynasty league since the inaugural draft.

Cracker:Where do you see the IDP studs going in dynasty drafts this year? I figure Suggs could be a top-12 pick, and then I'd expect some of the DB's to show up in the 13-24 range, maybe with McDougle in there too. After that, it seems like a crapshoot.

Ours is going like this:

What you said looks to be right on. Suggs will more than likely be the first IDP selected, probably late first-early second. After that, there are 5 players that I like based on team need and opportunity. Polamalu will be right there with Suggs, with the trio of linebackers following: E.J.Henderson, Boss Bailey & Nick Barnett. After that, I think it'll be Mike Doss. From that point on (unless your willing to take a defensive lineman), it is a crapshoot. Position battles will clear things up but right now playing time is a little muddled. Most of the above listed guys will be gone by the end of round 2 (plus a couple more players)

First 15 rookie picks of a current dynasty draft.1. Fargas, Justin OAK RB 2. Johnson, Larry KCC RB 3. Rogers, Charles DET WR 4. McGahee, Willis BUF RB 5. Leftwich, Byron JAC QB 6. Continuing the 2nd round results of the draft posted earlier by Boone22...1.01 Charles Rogers (One Player Away)1.02 Willis McGahee (One Player Away)1.03 Andre Johnson (One Player Away)1.04 Larry Johnson (One Player Away)1.05 Justin Fargas (Steel Curtain)1.06 Chris Brown (Whoa Nellies)1.07 Lee Suggs (Aerial Attack)1.08 Byron Leftwich (One Player Away)1.09 Musa Smith (High Tops)1.10 Artose Pinner (High Tops)1.11 Onterrio Smith (Steel Curtain)1.12 Carson Palmer (1 Player Away)2.01 Jason Witten (Steel Curtain)2.02 BJ Askew (Endzone Wizards)2.03 Rex Grossman (One Player Away)2.04 Kyle Boller (High Tops)2.05 Dallas Clark (Big Dawgs)2.06 Chris Simms (Aerial Attack)2.07 Taylor Jacobs (Whoa Nellies)2.08 LaBrandon Toefield (Steel Curtain)2.09 Bryant Johnson (Endzone Wizards)Pick 2.10, and still no sign of Kelley Washington. I'm Steel Curtain, and I considered him at 2.08, but I don't really need WR help at all. If he pans out, someone will get a pretty good value pick pretty soon.Somehow, I ended up with arguabley the 3 most talented and injury plagued running backs in the draft - 1.05 Fargas, 1.11 Smith, and 2.08 Toefield (to go with 2.1 Witten).

Our Rookie Draft has proceeded as follows:1. Charles Rogers--Shark Tank 2. Andre Johnson--Marauders 3. Larry Johnson--Demons 4. Willis McGahee--Marauders 5. Justin Fargas--Demons 6. Chris Brown--Demons 7. Bryant Johnson--Rednecks 8. Tyrone Calico--Cowboys 9. Kelley Washington--Marauders 10. Carson Palmer--Squires10 team, Dynasty, performance plus scoring (yardage, receptions and scores) with 1 QB, 2-3 RB's, 1-4 WR's (5 total at WR/RB), 1 TE, 1 PK, 1 DT There has obviously been a fair amount of trading prior to the draft.I am the Demons and I felt a need for RB's. I got Portis last year at the 1.9.I currently have:Green, Trent KCC QB Kitna, Jon CIN QB Jones, Thomas ARI RB Portis, Clinton DEN RB Tomlinson, Ladainian SDC RB Branch, Deion NEP WR Burress, Plaxico PIT WR Gaffney, Jabar HOU WR Johnson, Chad CIN WR Moss, Randy MIN WR Owens, Terrell SFO WR Robinson, Koren SEA WR Graham, Daniel NEP TE Jolley, Doug OAK TE Shockey, Jeremy NYG TE Akers, David PHI PK Raiders, Oakland OAK DT Rams, St. Louis STL DT 18 Total Players (the rosters are temporarily expanded to 21, until the end of the preseason, to account for the 3 round rookie draft)
I'm guessing this team is pretty good now.
