Why is there always discrimination? (1 Viewer)

USA just keeps discriminating and now we have a new form of discrimination, punishing people for things their ancestors or grandparents have done, not even them.

How are we suppose to progress as a nation when we have ridiculous racist #### like affirmative action going on? Look what affirmative action has given us, the worst president of all time, and it looks like we might be getting another terrible president (clinton) due to more affirmative action. This country is starting to rot, because its about punishing innocent people and promoting people undeserving because of the past.

What's sad is that millions of Americans agree with JohnJohn.
What is sad you always over-generalize, which is kind of ironic.
All right let me be specific: there are millions of white, male Ameircans who resent Affirmative Action intensely, who are sick and tired of hearing about the struggles of blacks, Latinos, and women in our society, and who believe the elevation of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton has at least something to with him being black and her being a woman. Now is what I wrote the truth, or am I over/generalizing?

The bolded part is undeniably true. You can dig around in some threads from 2008 to find people in this forum who supported Obama, in part, because he is black. I also personally know a handful of people (my MIL is one), who support Hillary Clinton -- again in part -- because she is female.

Of course it's true to an extent. But sad part is that millions of people like the OP resent it.

The white males resent it while cheering on their own white male GOP candidates. Pretty hypocritical.

Didn't vote for the guy the 2nd time but my bank account says bull #### to you. Stock market at all-time highs. It also says bull #### to you. You gotta be a loser at life.

FYI, the country rots with either party in charge.

And what's worse, the Jews are behind it all.

Similar to black conservatives.

Yes, it's really troubling that white males would feel resentment towards AA just because less qualified people are being favored.

Of course there are plenty of folks who vote for white guys because they're white guys too. That just doesn't get very much attention, and lots of them wouldn't even acknowledge it because "white guy" is an assumption that's so deeply embedded they don't even notice it.

This reminds me of Dave Wilson.

THERE HE IS!

Raising an interesting question: who's less qualified than Jim11?

Anyone who thinks the country isn't rotting isn't paying attention. 44% of America is on some kind of public assistance. We are over 13 trillion dollars in debt. The constitution has been rendered a joke of it's former self. Lawyers run the country. How much more rot do you need?

Jefferson, Lincoln, and many of our greatest statesmen were lawyers.

It is every white mans duty to apply for a job once a month so hiring managers can check the "we didn't hire whitey." diversity box.
