Why no love for Benson? (1 Viewer)

I think some of the comments comparing Benson to Rudi are pretty fair. I would expect 1200yds/8-10tds as a floor if he stays healthy.

My impressions of CB are that he's a fat *******. He's not really beloved by his teammates and hasn't exactly earned his place in the starting lineup. Thomas Jones got a raw deal IMO and the chemistry in general on this team just reeks. My draft position probably will dictate that I won't even sniff him and I'm quite happy about that. Let someone else deal with this budding prima donna.
Bitter Lions' fan.Just razzing you. :popcorn:I understand your point of view. CB has his issues and is no sure thing, but if I'm picking in the 2nd half of round 2, I'm loving him as my #2 RB.

My problem with Benson is (and always has been) what appears to be a complete lack of vision periodically. On simple plays where the blocking scheme does it's job, the Defense doesn't react well, he' a bruiser. Powerful, leg churn, good balance. When things get hairy, or the hole that is supposed to be there, isn't (I'd say that's the case 50% of the time in the NFL), he just doesn't ever seem to have any spacial awareness, or plan, or decision making ability, or vision. He just plows (high) into the nearest 320+ lb lineman and goes down. He's just so incredibly inconsistent in his play. His pass protection is equally inconsistent. You'll see him pretty effectively handle small speed rush DE's 1 play, then the next 2 or 3 plays he completely mis-reads his assignment, and gets Rex smashed.

/shrug. I guess this is a guy that I just won't have. I'm not going to be terribly suprised by either extreme of the spectrum.

I think he's great as a #2 as well. He is a decent reciver, but will receive enough of an occassional break on 3rd down with A. Peterson and Wolfe that he'll be fresh. I don't think 1200-1300 and double digit TD's is out of the question at all
