IMO I dont him ending his career like this, I think he'll get out of new york and picked up by some team like the vikings. Your thoughts?

I'm sure the 4 letter network will be leading their primary news program with this information for the next six months. :goodposting:

I'm not sure it is Favre's decision. The Jets will let the new HC decide whether he wants Favre back or not.

He's definitely done for good. He has an injury which he's been told would require surgery and he's also faced public rejection by his teammates for the first time. Those two factors will seal the deal.

If the Jets cut him, will Favre sign a one-day contract with Green Bay so he can retire a Packer? Will TT do it?

This poll will need to run through next fall to be sure of the final answer.
Care to place a wager on that?
Aren't you glad you didn't wager last year?
So...do you want to place a wager to back up your comment?
By definition, the answer to the poll question won't be definitively known until kickoff of next year's season.I'm not interested in betting on Favre's now-in-progress 2009 offseason circus. :blackdot:I'm sure you can get some Vegas action on Favre's retirement decision if you really really want to wager on it.

So you don't want to back up your thoughts that this will be a circus, he will drag it out and then unretire. I haven't seen any of the Favre haters ready to take that bet but they are all quick to try and bash him for what they think will happen.

He'll be back..guys like him have a tough time hanging up the cleats, they can't stand the thought of becoming just a 'regular joe' now that their pro sports career is coming to an end ( see Dennis Rodman)..it wouldn't surprise me if Favre was to play another 2-3 years..

I doubt NY Jets will be his team, I think he'd look for some deal to send him to Minnesota...

in no way do I see Favre going out like this, with TJ mouthing off calling him out publicly..Favre will not run and hide..even without those comments from TJ, Favre would have come back..its all about him, has been for years now..

he is the NFL's biggest diva...its like watching Joan Rivers go in for another surgery after she repeatedly says she's done with the whole face-lift thing.. :football:

I dont think these "Favre haters" are saying that it WILL happen but that it's certainly not out of the question that it is a possibility. You are downright denying that it wont happen. I've been a Favre fan for years, and Ive finally come to the conclusion that nothing is too absurd when it comes to his retirement.

I agree with this 100%

I believe he will retire by Feb. 15th and that will be it for him in the NFL.

He obviously doesn't want to train or practice and I don't know what team he'd go to with the thought that he can win a championship now. I could see him randomly starting games for some team in mid-season like Vinny, even a few years from now.

I'm sure he is not having much fun after this season and the aftermath that has come from it. This time he will walk away from the sport for good.

Favre is likely to play his worst at the end of the season, that won't help Minn.

Or it might, since his worst is better than average Tardvaris.

Without reading any of this mess, aren't we sick of this? Isn't there only so much we can take? Do we have to do this every f-ing year? I hope he signs with the Vikings and wins another Super Bowl and plays until he's 65. Good God Girdy !!

So here are your choices then...A) :confused:B) :)C) :lmao:D) :yawn:Feel free to use these in a month or two...A) :XB) :yucky:C) :wall:D) :hot:

Didn't the Jets basicly say if he isn't going to come to mini's and the preseason then don't come back at all?

I still think he'll come back.. he just doesn't know when to quit. He'll fizzle like Montana did.

Believe it or not, people think their might be a circus around him again, I disagree. He didn't put up great numbers and showed his age this season, I don't think he's that high of a commodity that reporters will be following him around. I think he's going to have all the time in the world by himself this season to make his decision. IMO, I hope he does retire, the man is slowly killing his legacy... he's like the NFL's Holyfield or Chavez... just go out on top, you have nothing left to prove.

Brett engaged in a power play with the Packers front office and coaching staff, lost that by getting shipped out of town, had to follow through on his statement about "wanting to play" by playing for the Jets, and ended up fading down the stretch and getting the head coach fired in a town not known for its charitable sports reporting resulting in him getting criticized like never before in his career.

I'd expect him to retire and stay retired this time.

Who cares? The guy is a misanthropic, pitiful excuse for a teamate. He should have retired as the Golden Boy, before we all saw him as the selfish brat who is above criticism - and above his teammates - he really is.

Legacy tarnished? Legacy destroyed. He is not what football is all about... a guy who is me, me, me, pretends to be otherwise and has lost as many (more?) big games than he has won.

No it isn't. He will not be back and I have yet seen anyone willing to bet me on that.

By the way.....there was no circus this offseason.
