Will Grossman play the entire game? (1 Viewer)

I'm in the unfortunate position of having to choose between Pennington (@ MIA) and Grossman (@ DET) this week. I'd prefer to start Grossman because the Lions are in pretty bad shape.

Does anyone have any idea if Grossman will play the entire game this Sunday?

Thanks in advance.

With left tackle John Tait probably sitting this one out, and left guard Ruben Brown on the injury report - you've really go to wonder how long Rex will play - especially on a synthetic surface.

I think he would, yeah the bears have wrapped up homefield and all. But with the inconsistency associated with Rex, the Bears need him on a roll entering the playoffs. IMO

Personally, I think they'd prefer to use the Packers game as a tune up game for the playoffs.

Sure they need Grossman continue to hone his skills - but not at the risk of getting injured with Tait out. I'm sure they'd like to get Griese some snaps also.

Plus they're playing at home and they'd keep the faithful frigid fans delighted.

This Detroit game is a throwaway game.

Damn Tampa. Why couldn't they win that game last week?? :lmao:

Because the Bears TRIED in the first half. LOL!

What about the Bears' D? I am debating between Kitna and Grossman. If both Grossman and some starters on the Bears' D arent playing the entire game, Kitna may very well be the play here.

The best that can happen to the Bears is for Grossman to get hurt ( Not very seriously just to end is season )

so they could put a real QB in the game and maybe go to the Super Bowl .

:hey: I posted this yesterday and got a bunch of :crickets:I'm starting him unless I hear differently.
I know, theres been about 2 threads per day on it. No one knows the answer to this question. Its likely going to depend on how the game plays out. I wouldnt feel comfortable starting any Bear, except Gould or the D/ST

 My thoughts as well. He needs all the time he can get before the playoffs...

I dunno... I think he's learned from his mistakes now. Most of his major struggles have been on the road also, except for that clunker against the Vikings. He'll finish with a 3,000 yard passing season, and he's had 8 games near or above 100.0 with his QB rating - both of which are not very common with Bears QBs.I wish there's some way the Bears could get Benson and T-Jones in the backfield at the same time, which would then create a bit of havoc for the OLBs on the opposition.

maybe a better ? is whether lovie wants to take a chance of throwing griese in, have him tear it up, and then be back to the "see we should start griese" flames nipping at his ####.....

I'm actually considering sitting Gould for Scobee, but that's a tough call. Its in a dome and it is Detroit so I'd think even if it is Griese/Benson they should get into FG enough. Not to mention off TO's and bigtime returns from PrimeTime2000

FoxSports.com's John Czarnecki reports that Brian Griese may play for much of the second half Sunday.Chicago would like to rest a few of their starters after getting a big lead early against Detroit. Thomas Jones and Brian Urlacher are two other candidates. We'd be wary of starting Grossman in fantasy leagues unless it was necessary. Dec. 24 - 8:57 am et

CRAP!!! So the question becomes for me is a 1/2 Grossman vs. DET better than a full Kitna vs CHI. My superbowl champion hopes are fading :wall:

I picked up Jason Campbell vs the Rams hoping for a couple deep balls.

Rex was a steal off the ww last week, but can't trust him just playing a half today.

If the starters get some rest and T.Jones does not play, does that make Adrian Peterson a sneaky RB3 vs the horrible Det DL?

I was thinking of benching Gould for Grammatica, as I noticed that Detroit has given up the 19th most fantasy points to kickers over the last 3 weeks in my league, while Philly has given up the 4th most! I fear that either Grossman or Griese will have an easy time getting TD's and leaving few FG chances. It's tough to bench Gould though, I tell ya.

He is ranked #1 according to FBG's Kickermania column.
