It is a matter of time. When they look like they are really not going to contend this season for a post season spot or if Warner really stinks it up again with losing the football.

I have been a Warner fan since his breakout season in 1999. It is too bad he keeps landing on teams to be a caretaker for a high draft choice at QB. With that, it is quite obvious his better days are well behind him as being a very productive winning QB.

Leinart will do a decent job IMO when he get's his turn, but he will have the usual rookie rough ride, especialy in this pass heavy offense that also can't protect that well. Leinart though has great weapons at his disposal to make his transition into the pro game a good one. He will be a very solid player for years to come. He is a natural leader and an accurate passer. he also has some sneaky mobility as he showed in his limited pre-season.

There lies the difference. Many have bashed the O-line in Zona and justifiably so. Warner is a statue back there. So given that the offensive line won't improve, the mobility of Leinart will change the result of the sacks. Warner will keep the job for now, but should his first half this weekend be shaky it wouldn't surprise me to see the Leinart era begin this weekend. From the time he first steps onto the field, he won't sit down baring injury.

I'm guessing on Oct 8th vs KC. I think Green wanted to do it this week but realized that starting Leinart vs a good team that was totally dominated on MNF could be a disaster. Especially at their place. He probably figures, maybe correctly, that Warner will get pounded this week and nobody will question his decision to make the move then.

Like everyone - just guessing : :loco:

:goodposting: This was my thought as well. I picked up Leinart with the idea that he'll start the following week vs KC (which is also Vick's bye for me).
