Will Owen Daniels find Pay dirt? (1 Viewer)

I would bet thats hes around Top TE 10 in most league... and if he could add 3 or 4 TDs; he could push Top 5.

Hes #6 in Recs & #5 in Yds for TEs. This is a Great match up for him this weekend, Browns are #2 for pts allowed to TEs.... can he find the endzone this weekend... can he find the endzone atleast once or twice this yr?

edit: In fact the guy was a TD Machine in the 1st 8 weeks of 2006; he had 5 in his 1st 6 or 7 games. But sinse week 8 of 2006, hes had ZERO.

I hope not. My opponent put him in his lineup for lack of a better receiver.
the Browns will try to double AJ and make someone else beat them..that someone else will likely be Owen Daniels.AJ will get his numbers, but Daniels should finally score a TD or two.

I don't think the Browns will have a talented enough secondary to double AJ. But Schaub should be able to spread the ball around quite a bit.

I believe James Brown has a trademark on the word "Paydirt".

This word cannot be used without the expressed written consent

Out of 78 RZ opps among all Houston RB/WR/TE so far, Daniels has a mere 6 targets on the season. Four of those came in Week Six. Coincidentally, he has not had a single red zone target since then.

I wouldn't expect Daniels to score this year, let alone this week. He is persona non grata in their red zone offense. Numbers don't lie. Sorry.

And if there's one thing we've learned in the past with the NFL....its that it is VERY predictible and coaches NEVER change strategies from week to week due to matchups. Pretty much the same scheme and same results week in and week out.

what does 2008 hold for Daniels... he will surely be drafted within the 1st 10 - 8 TEs next yr
Once that team gets everyone on the field and boslters the D and the running game they will have a lot of weapons. Owens will be the guy to get 100 and 2 when the D decides to stop Andre and the RB and give them Daniels. He's never going to be a consistent starter like Winslow, Witten or Gates, but he will be a solid bye week fill in. just hope that the week he goes off is the week he's starting for Winslow. And before anyone starts griping that there is no way to have Daniels and Winslow unless you are in a 6th grade girl scout league. Both can be had in a redraft and even easier in a dynasty. I have both in both of my dynasty leagues....

Drafted Daniels in the 19th of my IDP league to Back up my then Starter Todd Heap... Luckly I have since Packaged Heap away for a package that included Dallas Clark... so it is very possible to Own a top TE and Daniels... what I did notice was that his value increased heavely as the season came closer.

I noticed that too. I snagged him very early in the offseason. Somewhere around March of last year. Got a few offers right before the season once the team signed Schaub who has a history of playing in an O that features the TE.

WTF ever said it was impossible to own 2 top TEs? In my dynasties I have Shockey/Daniels/Scaife and Gates/Heap. Really isn't hard to get to top TEs. At least in my leagues. TEs are generally undervalued.

I notice that after the intial draft... it is easy to pick up future top TEs from the WW... really only 1st and 2nd RD TEs are drafted in rookie drafts; the rest are left in the WW and if your active... u can always get a good / underrated rookie early in the season.

I think half of the top 10 FF TEs are Drafted 3rd RD or later in the NFL.... jeez; I think the mighty Gates went undrafted back then... imagine picking him off the WW.
