Will the New England-Dolphins game have the largest point spread (1 Viewer)

And what is the current record? Thought I heard it being 24 points, but not sure if that's right, or what the teams are.

I'll be stunned if that thing doesn't hit at least 24. My buddies and I settled on 28 while talking about it

Dolphins last win was 21-0 over New England in week 14 last season.

Dolphins haven't won again since then and the Patriots haven't lost a regular season game since then.

I think 24 points sounds about right.

Steelers were favored by 24 over the Bucs in the 70s, either during or immediately after the 0-14 season.

Pats were favored by 24 over the Eagles this year. I believe it went north of 24 before getting taken off the books.

I don't know what lines Vegas will set, but I expect the Pats to beat the Jets much more badly than they will beat the Dolphins.

The way Miami is playing, there isn't a team in the league who wouldn't be favored by 15 points at home.

I'd think 30 points is the absolute minimum.

Is it possible that Vegas would take it off the books if it got to more than 28 points? 4 TD favorites just makes for really weird things to happen.

It really depends how the Pats look going in.

They seem to be headed to their third straight competitive game, and maybe their third straight game without covering. On the other hand, there's a good chance they go nuclear on the Jets in the revenge game next week. If the Dolphins are 0-14 and the Pats are coming off a 67-3 win, then it definitely could go over 30.

Why? There's 30+ point favorites all the time in college football and they don't take those games off.

The Bills put up 24 points on the Dolphins in the 1st quarter today and they had a punt return TD called back.

would be tough to pass on any spread less than 30.

doesnt everyone think that brady and moss will only play the first quarter and then sit the rest of the game? :lmao:
Is there a precendent in the past few seasons for the Pats to sit their starters in either of the last 2 weeks of the season?
They will have a first round bye, so I don't see Belichick resting his starters in week 15, maybe in week 17 but certainly not before. You can't essentially give your starters 4 weeks off and expect them to be at their best for the playoffs.

The Pats are trying to make a point. No way Brady and Moss come out before this thing is waaaaaay out of hand. Not even a consideration to me.

Brady needs 5 TD's for the single season record and I think Moss needs 4 TD's for the single season receiving record. I think you will see a lot of Brady to Moss the next 2 weeks.

The most I have seen Belichick pull his starters is the 2nd half of week 17. I dont even think he will do that if they are going for the undefeated season.

Lines are up.N.E. is -24½. Total is 51.
I'll take NE and the points and also the under. Miami won't score more than 10pts. I don't think NE has the fire to run the score up any more...he proved his point to the NFL early this season. When he gets up 28-0 at 1/2 time..he'll start resting starters this late in the season.Final 38-6.

I want the Pats to go unbeaten for one reason and only one reason. After this season, I never, ever want to see Mercury Morris and his tired act on my television. Ever.

So you want to watch Rodney Harrison and Juniur Seau talking about this for the rest of their lives? Lose-lose situation really.

Yeah, but they won't be able to spout off about how they were the "only" team to accomplish the feat.

I don't think there is any doubt that the Jets are a better team overall then the Fins right now. But with the whole spygate thing, I think the Jets put a big green X on them selves next weekend.

The spread should be bigger vs the Fins then the Jets, but I think the Patriots are going to make an effort to BLOWOUT the jets.

Wait, I thought they were playing the Jets next week, not the Dolphins.
Oh, this is the line for the Jets? Sorry this post was confusing and I didn't bother checking the schedule. So if its the Jets next week, I'll bet the Jets to win straight up and obviously with that I'll take the over!....that my "Joe Namath GAURANTEE"...
