As a Smith owner I sure hope not. I'd rather they wait until he's 100% healthy before he returns. I'd hate to see him re-aggravate the hammy and be out all season...

Any risk that Carolina (or even Steve himself) might rush him(self) back early becasue of their 0-2 start?

I don't think you need to worry about that. Smith is too important to this team and I seriously doubt they would risk having himself worse if he is not healthy enough to play.
