If it was just a bad night, I could forgive him. But he has issues with his control, doesn't have all his velocity, and has no confidence in himself. It would be crazy to put him out there. It almost looks like he is throwing batting practice when he is out there.

Something definitely isn't right with Valverde. There is either something physically wrong with him or his mechanics are really messed up. Regardless, there is no way he can close another game.

I agree that something is wrong. Last night before he threw his first pitch he kept shaking his arm and shoulder like he was not loose. Then his first few fastballs barely hit 90..then when he tried to throw harder he was all over the place. Right now he is throwing 90% fastballs that are right down the middle like BP. It really does not matter who they put in there because Valverdes confidence is shot!
