I noticed Hayes is playing significantly less snaps, but I hadnt heard why. Any homers with info? Who are the DE's to own in Tenn now?

It's been a series-by-series rotation in Tennessee all year long. Now and then, Hayes gets an extra series or a few more nickel snaps and the percentages switch from 50-50 to 65-35 in favor of Hayes, but David Ball and Jacob Ford are going to get at least 40-50% of the snaps each week.

Hayes and VDB are the most talented players and are the only ones to consider given the current rotation.

..but if this player is getting 50% of the snap.. no matter how talented he is.. should u or us in most cases - rather play less "talented" guy but one who get alot more snaps .. so we will get almost defenitly points for our team ? im asking this becoz i have W.Hayes and debating whether to keep him in compare to other waiver options.. but u guys put him in last week11 in the top5 of the DE . so when u are doing this list .. in the DE section r u depending more on big plays points (sack) rather than tackles/guys with alot more snap oppertunities ?

The rankings derive from the projections, which John bases on a number of different factors. I'm not sure I'd have projected Hayes to a full sack last week, but I have the benefit of hindsight and John may have seen something in the pass rush trend against HOU that prompted that projection. He'd have been down in the 20s most likely had John decreased his big play expectation to 50-60%. It's a judgment call on whether you play a more talented rotational player than a less talented near every-down player. Assuming the snap differential is close (i.e. talented player getting 60% and less talented 80%), it'd probably come down to which has the better matchup. In most cases, the more talented rotational guy may be getting 10-12 fewer snaps, but just as many high leverage snaps (i.e. scheme puts him in a good nickel role, he gets an extra series where possible, etc) and the snap differential isn't as meaningful as it might appear.

Thanks Jene for your answer.

i just wanted to understand the way of thinking u guys doing when u rate/project/recomend on the IDP assistant forum on specific player rather than other one.

W.Hayes could could easily back to his 2 strong weeks ( weeks 9-10), but in general its hard for me to predict and choose the DT & DE players and i prefer going with ones who in general bring at least few solid tackles/assists performence and when the big play like sack/fumble comes, its a bonus.
