William Moore vs. Louis Delmas (1 Viewer)

Probably deciding between these two in a currently running dyno draft, I imagine others will be presented with a similar situation too.

Who are you picking? and why?

ETA: throw Mike Mitchell into the mix too - day one pick that should start in 09 (I'm assuming most have Chung #1, as do I)

Just got done listening to the IDP draft audible, they made it sound like William Moore was Numero Uno and Chung was second fiddle. I am not sure what to make of the 3 safeties but i like all 3 right about the same (Delmas, Moore, Chung - in no order), I'll take whoever falls i guess?

Just finished a couple of rookie drafts. Took Chung in one and Moore in another with Delmas still in the mix. I think Delmas makes an interesting prospect, but rank him 3rd amongst these 3.

Let your league scoring dictate your selection...

Tackle-Heavy leagues = Moore, Chung, Mitchell (OAK)

Big-Play (INT, PD) leagues = Delmas

Delmas is currently listed as CB. I assume that's going to change once depth charts are released, but for CB-required leagues, if he can keep that designation could be fantasy gold.

I'm personally very high on Delmas, but I think all three have bright futures. I personally like Delmas and Moore over Chung just because of the situation... I never quite trust NE and with Meriweather and now McGowan there, I'm just wondering if he'll truly be in the box all the time.

I like him best and in one CB required league he is listed as a CB. He and Richard Marshall will make a nice pair. In that league my safeties are Mikell and Kenny Phillips.

Is this on MFL? The only thing is that they haven't done adjustments yet... I think the first round is done after training camp with the first official depth charts. It all depends on how the Lions choose to list him.

Yes. I am assuming he is a safety. I don't understand the CB ranking. Free safety is what he should be at this time.

He will be playing exclusively at safety for the Lions.

Delmas = FSBullucks = SS :lmao:

I had picks 4.8, 4.9, 4.10 and wiped them all out - Moore, Chung, Delmas. Why not just take them all!
I think it's tough to find roster spots to carry 3 developmental DB's. Hopefully 1-2 pan out immediately for you.
They went at picks 26,27,35 in mine and Mitchell went at #46.Safetys and cornerbacks can start and put up good fantasy numbers as rookies. They all have a chance to start from game 1, but I think Delmas has the best chance.

I assume Moore is starting FS, does it matter that he isn't the SS as much in Atlanta as it appears to for some teams?

As a general question the FS can get more big plays but not as many tackles. This applies to Delmas. In his first practices he got his hands on a lot of passes which could translate to big plays but not as consistent production.

This certainly can be true but not necessarily, depending upon what you classify as "big plays" and also how the SS is being used. If "big plays" includes sacks, then a blitzing SS who gets sacks, in addition to generating fumbles with his bone-jarring tackles in the box or in the backfield can generate just as many of them. I tend to want to have the SS rather than the FS just because the tackle numbers tend to be steadier with the former.

I really like Delmas, so I've taken him above Moore, but this is more because I trust Delmas to be a good player, and less SS/FS consideration.

delmas reminds me of bob sanders... but frank coyle used adrian wilson as a comp player for moore... he has an unusual skill set (220, had 8 or so INTs his junior year, didn't do as well as a senior, but was hurt... going by his junior tape, he probably would have gone higher)...

chung could inherit a great role, but owners may have to be patient, as he may not start or play full time immediately...

i had it moore, delmas & chung in dynasty... i like them all...

I would say Moore, Chung, Mitchell and then Delmas!!! but cant really gauge the order of these guys until week 1.
Delmas is a ball hawking free safety so he'll need big plays to keep up with the strong safeties. That said he's playing for a bad team and likes sticking his head in and tackles well.

I had the same idea and managed to pick up Delmas at 5.04 (#44) and Moore at 5.05 (#45)Chung went at 5.07 (#47). We use a Rookie Taxis Squad where rookies can sit all year without impacting your roster. I have time. As for who do I prefer.... I really like Delmas's ball skill. He has the energy and drive to be a top playmaker. Detroit will rely on him early and often. He will be a FF stud because Det has so few. He will be there to make plays.Moore is more of a DB3 to me as he has good coverage skills but is not a high energy thriller type. ATL has more of a bend don't break defense while Det is always bent!!
