link?Impossible to tell.I think Moore has a better chance of becoming an impact player, but he's just questionable enough in coverage that he could fall prey to the move toward two way safeties and fall out of favor after a short career as we've seen others do in recent years. Some scouting reports might suggest the same of Chung, but Belichick's early comments suggest otherwise and that's good enough for me.

Nothing earth shattering, but that's enough of an endorsement from Belichick to get me leaning toward the scouting reports that suggested Chung was athletic enough to at least hold his own in coverage. If you were looking for a specific link on Moore's coverage skill, that's just a general comment from my recollections of predraft reading. The first pick, Patrick Chung, the kid has had a lot of production at Oregon. [He’s] a good solid player. I think he does everything pretty well. He plays the run, plays the pass, man coverage, had a real good Senior Bowl, good in the kicking game. So he’s a strong player on all three levels of the field [and] on special teams.
I also read DeCoud is a better coverage defender. SAFETY IN NUMBERS: Some members of the media expect rookie safety William Moore to compete for a starting position during training camp. For now, he's working as a reserve.Impossible to tell.

He was in both of my drafts. I think he needs to be included with Moore and Chung. While he is a free safety he's a solid tackler and may have more big plays. I think he belongs in the conversation. I think there are 3 top safeties.he's not an option
I agree, Delmas has skills and Frank Coyle had him as his #1 safety going into the draft. As far as FF is concerned, I think W.Moore has the best statistical year out of the three as a rookie, Delmas is the #2. I think P.Chung is most likely to have the best statistical career of the bunch and Delmas again falls in at #2.He was in both of my drafts. I think he needs to be included with Moore and Chung. Both Moore and Delmas fall to teams without solid tacklers in the middle. Moore is battling rookie pick from last year DeCoud who I have seen is a better coverage man.I like Moore or Delmas long term so if the question is Moore or Chung I say Moore.I agree, Delmas has skills and Frank Coyle had him as his #1 safety going into the draft. As far as FF is concerned, I think W.Moore has the best statistical year out of the three as a rookie, Delmas is the #2. Moore concerns me because he's got Lofton grabbing up tackles in front of him, and Atlanta has a decent d-line and a scheme (Jacksonville's) that doesn't seem to produce top S numbers. Delmas has none of that as an obstacle to him, at least as far as this year goes - I have every confidence that Schwartz will have that defense improving over the next two years. Delmas' problem is that he's a converted CB who figures to be in coverage far more than he's in the box, and INT's, which are the big plays that he figures to generate most often, are fluky and hard to predict. I'm still opting for Moore because he at least plays SS and figures to get consistent tackle numbers over a period of time, but this is a tough comparison to make. Both Moore and Delmas fall to teams without solid tacklers in the middle. A tackle grabbing MLB didn't hurt Yeremiah Bell or Gibril Wilson or Eric Weddle or Michael Lewis last season. The scheme concern is legitimate, but mitigated some by the fact that Erik Coleman (80 solos) and Lawyer Milloy (76 solos) finished fifth and ninth respectively among safeties in solo tackles last season.I appreciate the focus on Delmas as a very good all-around player and like Chung and Michael Mitchell as well as a few other deep tier rookie safeties, but I think people -- and not necessarily T Bell here -- are looking for a reason to dislike Moore. I think it might become a very similar situation to that of Jerod Mayo last year. This kid can play, will start right away and has better opportunity than what may appear at first glance.Moore concerns me because he's got Lofton grabbing up tackles in front of him, and Atlanta has a decent d-line and a scheme (Jacksonville's) that doesn't seem to produce top S numbers.
Has he been named the starter yet?Jene Bramel said:A tackle grabbing MLB didn't hurt Yeremiah Bell or Gibril Wilson or Eric Weddle or Michael Lewis last season. He was working with the second team in the first minicamp, but Dimitroff strongly suggested he would play when commenting on his selection.Has he been named the starter yet?Jene Bramel said:A tackle grabbing MLB didn't hurt Yeremiah Bell or Gibril Wilson or Eric Weddle or Michael Lewis last season. Yeah, I took his work with the second team as the standard rookie runaround about "earning your spot" - I fully expect Moore to start. That's an angle I hadn't thought of - thanks for sharing.I think tackle opportunity in Atlanta for a safety has gone up because Boley is no longer there.Boley played 3 downs and Mike Peterson is getting a bit old. I see him being about the same as Brooking last year. There isn't really a replacement for Boley in coverage so I would expect the safeties to have to make more tackles.
