Willie Parker and Footballguys (1 Viewer)

Would love to see some sort of consensus ranking applied in the VBD stuff to get rid of this bias...
use the Projections Dominator and set the weights for each staff contributor
Interesting, guess I need to open my eyes...thanks for the heads up.To thos defending the #4 slot....how many would actually take him there over the likes of Gore, Addai, SAlex???
This is how I see it right now....1. L.T.2. S.Jackson3. L.J.4. F.Gore5. S.Alexander6. FWP7. T.Henry8. B.Westbrook9. J.Addai10. R.Johnson

I would...and I will next Sunday when I draft him #4 in al 12 team redraft ppr league.

FBG just realizes what a no-brainer Willie is. Honestly, how does this guy go outside the top5 in any draft? He did it last year and he is poised to have an even BIGGER year this year catching the ball. But no, I digress, let's all take the stud Addai instead.
Interesting, I had to see for myself tonight. I gotta say, FWP looked pretty good. I'm a believer. I wasn't so excited when he had 7 carries for 9 yards, but then he had some great opportunities in the passing game and busted a 20 yarder for a score. I always considered selecting FWP as settling, but with the new offense in place, FWP looks a little bit like Priest Holmes out there catching passes and busting long runs...

Got Parker today at 1.10. :goodposting: . I had him at 5 behind LT, SJ, LJ and Gore.

And then somehow (basically, the 12/13 turn was just a bizarre turn of events), Westbrook fell to 2.03

And no, our league has no openings.

Wow, exact same thing happened to me yesterday. Parker 1.10, Westbrook 2.3.I think that's pretty good value.

IMO, he's in a fairly large tier that includes Gore, Addai, Alexander, and Westbrook. I can even see arguments that LJ and Henry are in that tier.I would say Parker has less risk than all of them, except maybe Addai.
I believe that Addai had 2 ACL tears in college and never carried a full load while at LSU. He split carries last year and still got dinged. Meanwhile, FWP has played in 31 of the last 32 regular season games, and has put up great numbers while carrying the full load. Addai scored 4 TDs in one game, and 4 total in the other 15. I think that clearly FWP carries less risk than Addai - with a comparable upside.
Not true at all. Here's Addai's bio from LSU. 51 games while at LSU and started 19. Kinda hard to play 51 games with 2 ACL tears don't you think?CAREER

Weeks 14-16Frank Gore Vikings  Bengals :moneybag: Buccaneers :)Larry Johnson Broncos :) Titans :) Lions :)Joseph Addai Ravens :lmao: Raiders :) Texans :)Shaun Alexander Cardinals :) Panthers :moneybag: Ravens :moneybag:Willie Parker Patriots :moneybag: Jaguars :moneybag: Rams :)
This is far and away the best argument against FWP that I have seen. But I have to admit I am drinking the Kool-Aid this year. I had the 6 pick in two leagues and got him in both and feel very good about that.I have the 7 pick in another league this week and am praying that he will be there.

I wouldn't focus too much on the postseason schedule. First you gotta get there, and from that point anything can happen. Who knows, maybe the D's that you thought would be staunch are not so staunch.

I completely agree with you.By saying that this is the best argument against Willie, I still have him in each of the leagues that I have drafted in and am hoping he will slide to me in the other leagues I have yet to draft in. I would rather make it to the playoffs and worry about them when I get there than worry about them now and end up not making it in the first place.

Skinner- I ended up taking him, too. While some of the Omega leagues went a little differently. mine went exactly as predicted, so no chance for a surpirse Gore or Addai dropping. At least he scored last night

Joe's mancrush on FWP goes back at least three years :P P.S. This year I agree with it
I don't see Joe as the say-all on rankings. Not that he doesn't know FF and/or player rankings, but he seems more the business sense and Dodds and Co coming up with the rankings you see in DD. I could be wrong...

I had Parker last year, picked him up in RD3. This year in my 10 team keeper league (I've kept Steven Jackson) 5 teams didn't take a keeper so we had a RD0 draft for them. The first Rd0 Players taken were Addai, SAlex, LJ, Bush, Gore. I picked 3rd overall in Rd1 and Willie Parker was staring me in the face. I couldn't help but laugh inside and I my evil grin stayed on my face the rest of the day.

I think FWP will have a better year than last year. I like what I see out of the new O over there in Pittsburgh. I think you will see more pass catching out of Willie, and the 3rd down and GL carries. He's win win. I'd rank him in front of Addai simply because there are more weapons in Indy to spread the ball around too. They are close don't get me wrong, but I think FWP is more proven.

Very nice. I also kept Jackson and threw back parker(who i also got rd 3), but with the 8th pick (excl keepers), he was long gone.
