Wilson to Denver! (1 Viewer)

Assuming the 3rd player is Fant. This feels like about what it should cost.

Shelby Harris is a really good DT. Fant is a decent TE, Lock is an ok backup.

Seattle is priming to contend when the Rams hit the decline of their window.
Exactly. I would not be at all surprised to see them run Drew lock out there for a season and then drop the quarterback in 2023.

Purely to vex you? 😉

seriously though, who is the last tight end that Russell Wilson truly made fantasy relevant? I remember several good ones going to Seattle & FF owners having expectations of glory, only to be disappointed.

this honestly might be the best thing for Fant’s value.
Might be better for him for his productions, but not value

I can live with it.  Fant could never embrace the blocking aspect of being a TE and always seemed to have that untimely penalty. Shelby was a great player and will be missed. Drew---well I liked him, but Denver can find another hype, towel waiving man in the draft.

I'm trying to recall the last time a division was as stacked as the AFC W.
Will seriously be a fun division to watch.  Said before it was odd for Rodgers to try and go there after the Brady news.  Seeing the NFC get worse in that way...now Russ does it instead.   Not that Russ' division was any easier these days really...probably a trade up as far as talent for him now.

Lot to give up.  The lack of picks the next two years and also giving up a couple decent players, gonna be hard to keep pace with the other top teams who can keep improving.

Still an obvious move to make for Denver who was going nowhere

I'd be very shocked if Lock were to start for them. Would he beat out Geno even?

Sidenote, Is Derek Carr the best QB ever to be the worst QB in his division? He'd be the best QB in at least 1-2 divisions right now.

No doubt. Phenomenal leader. But he'll be 31 come this fall so was on the downside anyway.

I’m not sure, but his family sure seems to have terrible luck in the NFL.

Broncos deep at TE and Russ never was great with them so losing Fant not even a ripple.
True, Russ has never really utilized TE’s. He’s never had any good ones other than a used up Jimmy Graham though so a bit of a chicken and the egg argument. But would rather take a chance on Russ in a new offense than Lock or whatever else Seattle may bring in now.

Makes you wonder what Washington offered, as they could have absolutely offered just as much if they had wanted? Denver was only 2 picks higher in the draft.

If I'm a Giants fan, I'm actually the most upset here. They could have easily topped this offer having 2 1sts this year. Eagles arguably too.

It really isn't that much when you think about it. Paton has shown the ability to make moves to acquire more picks.

Name a more talented WR corps in the NFL not named the Rams.

Sutton and Patrick just signed extensions. Jeudy on a rookie deal and people forget about Hamler, who showed some amazing talent before getting hurt.  Albert O showed flashes, but needs to stay healthy.

This all hinges on building a line that can protect Russel, which is something Seatle struggled with. I think he is one of the most hit/sacked QB playing right now.

this makes all those cryptic tweets/insta stories from Von yesterday make a bit more sense.  Hope the Broncos don't get slapped with tampering before FA.

I don't see how it could be. It was just Miller saying he wanted to go back to his old team, and hoping he could get his locker back. Unless I missed something?

As for Metcalf, wasn't Wilson in love with Lockett?  When Geno Smith was QB when Wilson was out Metcalf was the #4 WR.  He was better with Smith than Wilson.

Broncos had an extra 2nd that is the 32nd pick from the Von Miller trade. Gotta figure their first this year was going to be spent on a QB if they hadn’t made this move. SF paid the 12 and 2 more 1sts and a 3rd to move up for Lance. Assuming that Wilson is still Wilson of old this seems a great move for them and not that costly given their other options to get out of QB purgatory.

Anyone think Seattle will make a run for Watson now? They have more than enough picks to satisfy the Texans. I don't Seattle just settling for mediocrity and a full rebuild.

nope.  It just seems odd for Von to be so vocal about coming back the day before they trade for RW.

That will be interesting to see… I suspect Seattle might want to keep him.

first, to stay competitive, but also to put spots in the seats and sell jerseys. He is now the single most marketable player.

I also suspect this puts Seattle back in the market to retain Penny, as they probably have no idea how Chris Carson’s neck is going to hold up.
Their top 2 QBs right now are Geno Smith and Drew Lock.

I was being generous. I truly wouldn’t be surprised if they ran one of those two out and basically sucked for a year then restocked at the 2023 draft.

The Seahawks are basically doing what I’m doing for my Dynasty team.

And here I thought this would be a slow news day.

Man - almost every big move so far has helped my 2023 draft picks in Dynasty. With this one, I happen to have the pick from the guy who has Chris Carson and DK Metcalf.

it is now legitimately possible that I’m going to own the first four picks in 2023.
In fantasy life, this is the first step on the proverbial Trail of Tears.

The universe has righted itself in a way.  Yesterday I was all bummed about losing Ridley, but I acquired him by giving up Lockett so now neither of us have a usable WR lol

Seahawks Receive:

1st Round Pick
1st Round Pick
2nd Round Pick
2nd Round Pick
5th Round Pick
Drew Lock
Shelby Harris
Noah Fant

Broncos Receive:

Russell Wilson
4th Round Pick

One major intangible is the Broncos now have a total class act as face of the franchise. There was huge leadership vacuum after Von Miller was traded.

Giants are already well over the cap and Wilson wouldn't fare much better behind their putrid o-line.
