Winborn (1 Viewer)

I have him and Nate Webster... I was going to let start both of them with Webster back but I had no idea D.J was cleared too. I think its pretty safe to say you can cut him loose.

I'm not cutting him till I see who is playing in the nickel. Boss Bailey had nice stats when both DJ and Nate were healthy.

I'm pretty sure Winborn/Webster/Williams will be the starting LBs... am I missing something?
He'll be on the field of course... he will start. But you have to figure in now there are 3 talented mouths to feed, his stats aren't going to be anywhere near where they were with those two coming back. He'll see the field but he's not going to have make all the plays he did the last couple of weeks with other playmakers out there. I guess the smartest move would be to hold him, I guess I am giving up prematurely but I see him averaging 3 solos and a couple of assisted from here on.

Winborn played with Webster and Williams when Bailey was lost to injury. He played in nickel packages with Williams. Those two games give some indication of what might happen -- 4-4-0.5, PD and 5-4-0, 3PD. Williams and Webster should be fully recovered, but could take at least a week to get into game shape.

My league scores higher for big plays, sacks, PDs...I'd be happy with those stats.

Despite at least eight tackles in his last five starts, Woodyard will most likely not start this week against the Panthers with DJ Williams returning from injury, the Denver Post reports.

The Rocky Mountain News suggests that D.J. Williams (knee) could move to middle linebacker full time now that he's healthy.

Williams, who's listed as probable, was playing inside on passing downs before his injury. The Broncos want to keep rookie weak-side LB Wesley Woodyard in the lineup and it could come at current MLB Nate Webster's expense. Denver could also move Webster to the strong side, replacing Jamie Winborn.

Any particular reason why Winborn's stats have fallen off the last 2 weeks? I know DJ and Webster have returned but am wondering if it's more them or just a lack of production?

Just not getting enough snaps anymore.

Fewer tackle opportunities the last three weeks and fewer rush attempts faced the last three weeks (except last week). More competition for tackle opportunity that remains with Webster and Woodyard and some improvement from the safeties in run support. Sat in some nickel situations for Wes Woodyard last week. He's back to a marginal LB3 with some weekly upside -- like a Clint Session.
