Wind in Cincy... (1 Viewer)

Weather.com is forecasting 40+ MPH wind for the Cincy/Pitt game. Think it will hurt Ben's throwing and put a heavier emphasis on the run, or has he been too hot to worry?

Backup is Sanchez...NE does look pretty tasty.

More than rain, isn't strong winds a bigger factor in passing games? I figure the scoring will be low and wouldn't start either kickers.

Simple answer, Yes.

40 mph will generally make it almost impossible to pass. Whether impossible or just very difficult will depend on the way the wind swirls in the stadium and the direction of the wind. Look for the team that runs best to win.

But yes, I suspect this will ground Air Steelers.

I think it'll be a good day to start Kevin Huber as your fantasy punter :)

Kapinos is a sneaky play as well.

Awesome info - thanks for the responses. Looks like it may need to be checked regularly prior to kickoff - now calling for averages of 20mph, occasionally going over.

Sorry if this crosses the line into the assistant coach realm, but given the environmental factors, do you think Sanchez or Cassel would be a better play today over Ben?

I'd bench Green but my only option on the bench is Lloyd. Should be just as windy in Cleveland.

Definitely starting Rams DST though.

I like a low scoring affair as both defenses have been tough. Wallace probably will have the most. Brown looks shaky now. Heath Miller underneath looks good. Cinci was going to have a tough time throwing it anyways but maybe Benson will actually produce today.

I remember about a month ago when Cincy was playing the Jags down in Fla. You were all over this thing telling us about hurricane conditions, blah, blah, blah. So I sit Green, who had a nice day, and ended up losing by a couple of points after the guy I started instead of him got next to nothing. So I'm sitting Green again today as a result of this weather info. :loco:

Start Sanchez. He should be good for 2 TDs tonight even if under 200 yds passing. I'm starting Sanchez over Stafford myself. More to do with playing vs Chicago defense though.
